Hailed as “credible, real and refreshing “, by the Guardian, the innovative emotional drama, ‘Unforgotten’ is renewed for yet another season, with the production commencing sometime in March, next year. Starring Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar in lead roles as DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan respectively, the first season of ‘Unforgotten’ aired on October, 2015. Unlike usual crime dramas that either focus on individual cases in most of the episodes, or has a single culprit engaging in a cat and mouse chase with the protagonist as the series ‘Sherlock’ was, ‘Unforgotten’ took a different approach tying the cases throughout each season whilst providing the progression on the personal lives of Cassie and Sunny. Season 5 saw the introduction of a new character ‘Jessie James’ as Sinéad Keenan joined the cast. Now, with the news of the upcoming season’s release being talked about among the fans, we have some snippets in store for you.
Cast and Crew
As per our sources, the creator of the series, Chris Lang and its director Andy Wilson will supposedly reprise their roles with Chris Lang serving as the writer and one of the producers of the series alongside Sally Haynes, Guy de Glanville, Laura Mackie, Anu Kevaria and Rebecca Eaton, (the production team). The upcoming season will also primarily be shot at United Kingdom, like the previous seasons did. The creator of the series, Chris Lang recently tweeted about the possibility of the duo working in the United States of America to solve cases. The ardent fans of the series will definitely get to see the iconic landscapes of the country.
Not much is known regarding the cast or the possible new characters for the season. However, viewers can expect Sanjeev Bhaskar and Sinéad Keenan to reappear on screen, performing their lead roles.
