‘Il Mostro’, an upcoming project from The Apartment Pictures, is reportedly under development and will focus on the real life unsolved case of one among the most brutal serial killings in Italy’s history. The production will be showcased as a series and is supposedly being taken up by Netflix. The series will narrate the string of sex-related murders that took place between the 1960s to the 1980s in Italy, outside of Florence. The killings targeted couples parked in cars at secluded places around Florence. The investigation on the series of murders continued for decades.
A look at the Crew for the Series
Stefano Sollima and Leonardo Fasoli will be joining the crew as the writers of the series. They are also co- producers of the series alongside Lorenzo Mieli who will be leading the production. Stefano Sollima is an Italian director and screenwriter who is the son of Sergio Sollima, an active director and scriptwriter from the 60s and 70s whose works include, ‘The Big Gundown’, ‘Face to Face’, ‘The Black Corsair’, ‘Requiem for a Secret Agent’ and other action thrillers. Stefano Sollima has done work in both film and television which were crime and force genre centered. His filmography includes, ‘Adagio’ starring Pierfrancesco Favino (produced by The Apartment Productions) and more, ‘Sicario’, film series which has three movies featuring Benicio Del Toro in the lead role among others and ‘A.C.A.B. – All Cops Are Bastards’ which premiered in 2012. Leonardo Fasoli is another film and television writer whose works include ‘L’Immortale’ starring Marco D’Amore and Salvatore Esposito among others, ‘ZeroZeroZero’ which he co- wrote with Stefano Sollima and other artists, ‘Gomorrah’ which was released in 2021 and more. Lorenzo Mieli is another film and television producer who has co- produced a number of films and series. His works include, ‘Mob Girl’, ‘My name is Francesco Totti’ which as released as a documentary and ‘If Only’.
The Apartment Pictures is a production company that was founded by Lorenzo Mieli. Their productions include, ‘Priscilla’ by Sofia Coppola, ‘Kill Me If You Can’ which was directed by Alex Infascelli, ‘Six Easy Pieces’ by Mattia Torre, ‘The Hand of God’ which was written and directed by Paolo Sorrentino and more. As per the recent reports, the series has commenced its filming in October with Florence reportedly serving as the series’ location. With an on going production, this upcoming series can be expected to announce a premiere date soon.
