Mandalay Picture’s upcoming production is an adrenaline filled action thriller which is to be directed by Ben Younger. Titled, ‘Left Seat’, the film will focus on a salesman who believes himself to be travelling in an ordinary plane bound to reach a destination one way or another. However, little does he know that he will have to step up in an unexpected turn of events and guide the entire passenger crew to safety. ‘Left Seat’ will narrate how a traveling salesman is forced to take up the role of a pilot and attempt a safe landing for the plane he has boarded when the pilot dies. ‘Left Seat’ is a term associated with pilots to refer to the seat of the captain/ pilot while the ‘Right Seat’ is meant for the co- pilot. Consequentially, the term is used for the film to denote the salesman stepping up in the position of the pilot to land the plane.
Director Ben Younger debuted in the industry as a screenwriter through the film, ‘Boiler Room’ which was released in 2000. Some of his other works include, ‘Bleed for This’, a sports drama which starred Miles Teller, Aaron Eckhart and Katey Sagal among others, ‘Prime’ which was released in 2005 and featured Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep in the cast, and more.
