Stay Close opened to mixed reviews with its debut in December 2021. The mystery series is a television adaptation of one of Harlan Colan’s works. Colan has always amazed audiences with his compelling storyline and Stay Close is no different that became among the most-watched Netflix series on its launch day. The series has an equal measure of suspense, plot twists, and mystery that keep viewers at the edge of their seats. With season one of Stay Close already released, fans are desperately waiting to see more from the series. But to the fans’ disappointment, Season two has not got an official confirmation as of now. And it seems that similar to Colan’s previous Netflix adaptions, Safe, The Woods, The Stranger, The Innocent, and Gone for Good, Stay Close was ordered as a miniseries. With that in mind, Stay Close season two is not a possibility, at least at this moment.
But we are holding out hold that Stay Close season two may arrive in the immediate future. That being said, here’s everything you need to know about a possible Stay Close season two:
Stay Close season two official release date: What could be its possible date of airing?
Sadly, there has been no word about season two’s Stay Close’s airing date from creators or production. So, with no concrete information, guessing when would the series drop for a second outing is very hard.
Stay Close season one includes eight episodes and is available for streaming on the streaming giant, Netflix. The series is part of a five-year deal that the streaming service and Harlan Coben have agreed to. Harlan is on his way to launching many films, and television shows onto our screens under his agreement with the streamer. Thus, there is a lot of mystery stuff to look forward to this year from Coben.
Stay Close Season two Plot Line: What could it have been?
Since the series is shrouded in dark, fully predicting its future storyline is not easy. But we can pick up hints from its predecessor that saw Megan Piece’s dark past haunting her present life, Michael Broom investigating a cold case related to the disappearance of Stewart Green, the man who forced Megan to take up a new identity. Season one’s end unveiled many answers like who is behind the murders, and what is the connection that binds Megan, Ray, and Broome together.
Although creators have not disclosed any plot synopsis, the show’s core cast has their fantasy when it comes to the plot of season two. While Richard Armitage who plays Ray Levine thinks that Megan’s love interest, Dave’s unexpected revelation can make for an intriguing opening for a follow-up season, with his disclosure open to audience perception, and Bethany Antonia reckoning that a time jumps to the events of season one can serve as a great opener for season two. Antonia said in an interview that the story is set a few years in the future with her character, Kayleigh at 35, and sees a yellow car that leaves her in flashbacks.
With this, we are sure that there are endless possibilities for a potential season two. If it happens, it would be a surprise to see how things unfold following the cliffhanger climax of season one.
Stay Close Season two Cast: Who could be in the cast?
Stay Close features Cush Jumbo as the series lead, Megan Piece whose original moniker is Cassie Morris, James Nesbitt as DS Michael Broome, and Richard Armitage as Ray Levine, Daniel Francis as Dave. It is not possible to think of a follow-up without these characters and cast members. Therefore, season two will bring into the mix some old faces along with new characters.
Daniel O’Hara has steered all eight episodes of the series, while Juliet Charlesworth joined the series as a producer.
