Movie fanatics were extremely delighted to learn that a fifth movie was happening. Scream is an American horror-thriller series that has gained a lot of attention due to its unique plotline and enthralling visuals. It was created by Kevin Williamson which was launched in the 1990s.
The story follows Sidney Prescot who comes across a series of killings by an unknown masked serial killer. The movie is being directed by Matt Bettunelli Olpin and Tyler Gillett and its executive producer is Kevin Williamson, also the creator of the Scream horror series. Filmmaker Tyler Gillett also praised the original trio stars, Courteney Cox, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette, for their wonderful performances and personalities. Gillett pointed out that, “I think we should also say that the legacy cast, these movies have been a part of their lives for a really long time. It would be easy to show up and kind of phone it in, but you can just tell they love these movies so much. And are really the beating heart of the franchise. And so to have the three of them so generously offering themselves to the movie. And in so many ways building the vibe of the movie, not only by just having told four incredible stories in this universe. By showing up, being willing to engage on a very personal level with us and with the other cast members. They created a sense of family.”
Scream 5 Release Date: When is it premiering?
Scream is all set to hit theatres in 2022. Spyglass declared openly back in August 2020 that Scream is slated for a release on January 14, 2022.
The movie has no title but will simply go ahead with just Scream. It is also reported that filming and post-production has been wrapped several months ago.

Scream 2022 will bring back the familiar faces as in the last four films which means the trio stars will be returning to reprise their respective roles as they have survived thus far and the story will continue. Scream 5: What to expect from the upcoming movie story?
Since the details of the full cast lineups have been kept under wraps it’s a bit complicated to foresee what the storyline will be like. However, the official synopsis for Scream 2022 has been published but then again it doesn’t give many hints to even predict what’s really going to happen. The official synopsis reads: “A young woman who returns to her old hometown, only to encounter horrific murder cases connected to a notorious masked serial killer.”
This would indicate that Sidney would be returning to her hometown only to find these horrific incidents caused by the masked villain. Will she be able to make it out alive? and since she won’t be the only one dealing with the masked serial killer, the other cast members will get involved in some ways and for that, we’ll have to find out and watch when the movie is out.
