Fortitude International’s next project is set to star Sam Rockwell and Kumail Nanjiani in lead roles. Titled, ‘A Guy Walks Into a Bar’, this upcoming feature film literally begins with a guy walking into a bar. When a gentle and kind new father meets a seemingly dangerous but charismatic man in a bar, he becomes convinced the man has murdered his own family and has his eyes on the man’s family. Produced under Fortitude International, a finance and production company, ‘A Guy Walks Into a Bar’ will reportedly be shot in Kentucky with the filming commencing sometime in the fall. Fortitude International is known for their movies, ‘First Love’, which starred Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Sydney Park in lead roles and ‘Fatman’, which had Mel Gibson and Walton Goggins in the lead roles. For ‘A Guy Walks Into a Bar’, Fortitude International will be collaborating with Midnight Radio and Mojo Films (production companies) with an approved SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement to continue casting. Nadine de Barro and Scott Rosenberg (‘Beautiful Girls’, ‘Disturbing Behavior’ and ‘Happy Town’) will be forming the production team for ‘A Guy Walks Into a Bar’.
Gary Fleder to Direct ‘A Guy Walks Into a Bar’
The renowned director of ‘Homefront’ which starred Jason Statham, Gary Fleder is reportedly directing this upcoming feature film. Other works that the director is known for includes, ‘Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead’, ‘The Express: The Ernie Davis Story’ and ‘Don’t Say a Word’.
Sam Rockwell is a versatile actor who is known for his roles as, Jason Dixon in ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’, Francis in ‘Mr. Right’, “Wild Bill” Wharton in ‘The Green Mile’ and Billy in ‘Seven Psychopaths’. He is also an Academy Award winner for Best Supporting Actor, which he received for his role in ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’. Kumail Nanjiani is another popular actor/ comedian who began his career performing stand up comedies. Being exceptionally talented, his films include ‘The Big Sick’, ‘The Lovebirds’, ‘Men in Black: International’ and Marvel’s ‘Eternals’. He is also a recipient of numerous acclaimed awards including the Academy Awards, Gotham Awards, Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards and many more.
Though it is known that Sam Rockwell and Kumail Nanjiani will be leading this film, there is no surety regarding who will be playing whom. Yet the combination of both the actors will be a delight indeed as both are skilled artists primarily known for their atypical characters.
