Monicker Pictures and ITV Studios are collaborating for an upcoming series titled as, ‘Piglets’ which will potentially have United Kingdom serving as its primary location. Monicker Pictures is a relatively new production company. ITV Studios is known for, ‘The Voice’ a music themed reality show, ‘Love Island’ a British dating game show, ‘Line of Duty’ which ran for 6 seasons and more.
Sam Leifer and Victoria Pile will possibly be directing this upcoming series whist also serving as its co- producers. Sam Leifer is primarily known as a producer and his works include, ‘Plebs: Soldiers of Rome’ which premiered in 2022, ‘The Honeymoon Suite’ a short drama and ‘The 10th Man’ which premiered in 2006. Victoria Pile is popular as a writer. Her works include, ‘The Delivery Man’ which premiered in 2015 as a sitcom, ‘Smack the Pony’ which ran for 3 seasons, ‘Green Wing’ which initially premiered in 2004 and ‘Los Dos Bros’ which was released in 2001, to name a few.
Plot of ‘Piglets’
‘Piglets’ is set in a fictional police training college where the government’s stated policy of recruiting 20,000 new police officers in double quick time is proving to be an arduous task. The series will follow a newly recruited group of six extremely different cops in training and the handful of key staff who is there to make sure that the group gets into some kind of shape.
Joining Sam Leifer and Victoria Pile as the producers for the upcoming series are Caroline Leddy and Robert Harley. Caroline Leddy is a known producer and was a part of ‘Four Lions’ which premiered in 2010 and is a comedy, ‘Derry Girls’ which ran for 3 seasons, and more. Robert Harley is the founder of Monicker Pictures alongside Victoria Pile and is a known writer/ producer. Additionally, Robert Harley and his wife Victoria Pile will be composing the screenplay for ‘Piglets’ alongside James Henry, Oriane Messina, Fay Rusling and Omar Khan. James Henry is a known writer and was part of the crew for ‘Green Wing’. His other works include, ‘Taffy’ which originally aired in 2018 and ran for 2 seasons. Oriane Messina is another known writer whose works include, ‘Me and Mrs Jones’ whoch premiered in 2012, ‘Campus’ which is a Monicker Pictures production and more. She was also a part of ‘Green Wing’ and ‘Smack the Pony’. Fay Rusling is another known writer who is known for her work in ‘Smack the Pony’ and ‘Green Wing’. Omar Khan is a recognized writer whose works include, ‘Huff! It’s Too Much’ which premiered in 2013, ‘Jhootha Hi Sahi’ a romantic comedy and more. With a set crew, ‘Piglets’ is set to commence its filming in early 2024.
