In a move signaling fresh momentum for one of Broadway’s rising talents, Range Media Partners has announced a representation agreement with Lauren Patten, the acclaimed actress and singer-songwriter whose raw energy has captivated stages and screens alike. Best known for originating the fierce role of Jo in the Tony-nominated rock musical Jagged Little Pill—inspired by Alanis Morissette’s iconic album—Patten’s signing underscores her transition from theater darling to versatile entertainer ready to conquer new frontiers.
Patten’s Broadway breakthrough came with Jagged Little Pill, a Diablo Cody-penned production that blended Morissette’s angst-ridden anthems with sharp family drama. Her portrayal earned her a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical, alongside a Grammy and Drama Desk nod, cementing her as a force in contemporary musical theater. “Lauren’s voice—both literal and figurative—cuts through with unapologetic truth,” a Range insider noted, highlighting her appeal for clients seeking bold, boundary-pushing storytellers.
The deal builds on Patten’s diverse resume. On stage, she’s dazzled in the world premiere of The Lonely Few at Los Angeles’ Geffen Playhouse, a gritty rock tale of sibling bonds, and revisited the vulnerable Lila in an Off-Broadway revival at MCC Theater. Earlier triumphs include her ensemble work in Sarah DeLappe’s The Wolves, which snagged Obie and Drama Desk honors, the poignant Fun Home on Broadway, and a reimagined Spring Awakening with Deaf West Theatre.
Television has beckoned too: Patten embodied the enigmatic Anna Collier opposite Mandy Patinkin in Hulu’s Death and Other Details, held her own as officer Rachel Witten across six seasons of CBS’ Blue Bloods, and popped up in HBO’s Succession and Paramount+’s The Good Fight. She’s gearing up for a recurring arc in Amazon’s Off-Campus, a campus thriller poised to spotlight her dramatic chops.
Beyond acting, Patten’s musical pursuits shine brightly. Her debut EP, Covers, dropped in March 2024, reinterpreting classics with a soulful twist, and she’s commanded intimate gigs at New York staples like Rockwood Music Hall and Sony Hall. Retaining ties with WME, Jackoway Austen Tyerman, and imPRint, this Range partnership positions her for expanded opportunities in film, TV, and live performance.
