Fuzzy Door Productions is back with a new project, a remake of the popular 1988 action comedy, ‘Naked Gun’. For the upcoming feature film, Fuzzy Door Productions will be joined by Party Over Here and Paramount Pictures. Fuzzy Door Productions recently premiered their work, ‘Books of Blood’ an adaptation of the novel with the same name, in 2020. Some of their other popular works include, ‘Ted’ film series directed by Seth MacFarlane and ‘A Million Ways to Die in the West’ which premiered in 2014, among others. The upcoming project will potentially have Liam Neeson playing the son of officer Frank Derbin instead of assuming the iconic role performed by Leslie
Nielsen, while Mads Mikkelsen will be playing the role of Cane. Liam Neeson is an award winning actor who is known for his work in, ‘Schindler’s List’ which premiered in 1993, ‘Taken’ film series, ‘Honest Thief’ which was directed by Mark Williams and more. Mads Mikkelsen is another known actor whose works include, ‘Another Round’ which premiered in 2020, ‘Riders of Justice’ an action comedy, ‘Bastarden’ which premiered this year, and more.
Directed by David Zucker, the 1988 series revolved around Frank Drebin, a police detective, and Jane Spencer who were in a desperate attempt to stop the assassination of the Queen of England. Upon its premiere, the series was a massive success and was almost instantly followed by sequel films. Besides Leslie Nielsen, the cast for the original series and its sequels include, Priscilla Presley, O. J. Simpson, George Kennedy and more.
A Look at the Crew for the Upcoming Remake
Akiva Schaffer is rumored to be joining the crew for ‘Naked Gun’ as its director. Akiva Schaffer is a known filmmaker whose works include, ‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’ which starred Andy Samberg, ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers’ which premiered in 2022, ‘Hot Rod’ a dramedy and more. Dan Gregor, Doug Mand, Mark Hentemann and Alec Sulkin will be composing the screenplay for the upcoming feature film which is currently under active development. Dan Gregor is primarily known as a producer and his works include, Akiva Schaffer’s ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers’, ‘Most Likely to Murder’ which premiered in 2018 as a comedy and more. Doug Mand is another known writer/ producer and was also a part of ‘Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers’ and other works. Mark Hentemann is popular for his works, ‘Family Guy’ which has been running for 22 seasons, ‘Bordertown’ which premiered in 2016 and more. Alec Sulkin is another known artist who has worked in several of Fuzzy Door Productions’ films such as the ‘Ted’ series, among others.
The production of the upcoming feature film will be taken up by Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins, two known producers in Hollywood.
