This new project is set in Seventeenth Century England and will showcase an ambitious, epic tale that follows the adventures of a young woman who is growing up amidst a war immersed in total chaos. Titled as, ‘Civil Blood’, the development of the upcoming series is being taken up by Caryn Mandabach Productions. Caryn Mandabach Productions is a production company known for their shows, ‘Peaky Blinders’ which ran for 6 seasons and starred Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Joe Cole and Sophie Rundle, alongside other members of the cast, ‘Nurse Jackie’ which premiered in 2009 and ran for 7 seasons and ‘In with the Flynns’ a sitcom. Currently ‘Civil Blood’ is under development and is predicted to progress soon.
Caryn Mandabach, the Founder of Caryn Mandabach Productions and an Emmy-winning US producer will be heading the production crew for the upcoming series. Caryn Mandabach is additionally known for, ‘Let’s Go to Prison’ which premiered in 2006, ‘Days Like These’ a sitcom, ‘The Brothers Solomon’ which was directed by Bob Odenkirk and more. Caryn Mandabach will be joined by Cat Clarke and Michael Hirst for the development of ‘Civil Blood’. Cat Clarke is primarily known as an author and her works include, ‘Good Omens’ which initially premiered in 2019. Michael Hirst is another established writer who is popular for his history themed works such as, ‘Vikings’ which initially aired on History, ‘The Tudors’ which ran for 4 seasons and ‘Vikings: Valhalla’ a sequel to ‘Vikings’. Also, Cat Clarke and Michael Hirst will be composing the screenplay for ‘Civil Blood’. Jonathan Entwistle, the creator of the series ‘The End Of The F***ing World’, will potentially be directing the upcoming series. Being a known director, Jonathan Entwistle’s other works include, ‘I Am Not Okay With This’ which premiered in 2020 and more.

According to history, Seventeenth Century England was a turbulent time wherein the country was divided on matters relating to the succession of the throne and its eventual descent into a republic. The wars at the time is often called the ‘Wars of the Three Kingdoms’ and is often associated with massive destruction to both geography and countless human loves. The upcoming series will possibly focus on this aspect of the century.
