Harrow is an Australian sci-fi Television series created and produced by Leigh McGrath. It made its debut on ABC in March 2018. Ever since the series made its debut, it has gained a lot of appreciation from the audiences and today, Harrow has a huge fanbase. 

The series has three seasons so far. Back in May 2018, ABC renewed the second instalment which was released on May 12, 2019, followed by the third instalment renewed by ABC on October 2019 and was released on February 7, 2021. 

The story follows Dr Harrow who, by the way, doesn’t follow the rules and likes to investigate his patients. Well, except that his patients are already dead. He is empathetically drawn towards the dead as a result, Dr Harrow carefully examines the body and investigates the murders to bring justice to the victims. There is a twist though, Harrow the confident doctor— full of pride is haunted by his past secret and once that secret is out, it could entirely ruin everything for him.

Harrow’s cast and crew have not yet announced a fourth season. In Australia, the show has been a ratings hit for ABC and lauded for its suspense, great performances, and dark humour.

ABC programming director Michael Healy said in a recent interview that the network is “very happy” with Harrow and “hopeful” for a fourth season. Healy also stated that the network is still in preliminary talks with the show’s producers and has not decided.

The cast and crew of Harrow want a fourth season. In a recent interview, Ioan Gruffudd said he would “love” to undertake another season. He likes Harrow and finds the show “very challenging” and “rewarding”. However, it is too early to tell if Harrow will return for a fourth season. Due to its popularity and critical acclaim, the show is likely to be renewed. 

If Harrow Season four doesn’t renew, it could be because of these reasons:  

• Season 3 ratings dropped.
• Mixed reviews for the show.
• Producing the performance is costly.
• This show is hard to market.

Harrow Season 4: Will it Happen? 

It’s already May 2022 and to this day it remains a mystery whether a fourth season or Harrow will happen or not.

To put it, it’s not known whether there will be a fourth season of Harrow since ABC has not made any official announcement regarding the renewal of the fourth instalment. However, if you look at the ratings, the series has decent ratings and there’s a possibility that the Network will give the green signal for another season run. Also, the fact that the show has neither been renewed nor cancelled states that maybe season 4 will happen if not ABC could have already cancelled the show.

Nevertheless, if you look at the renewal date and air date for season 3, the gap is wide, like 16 months. It is also due to the COVID-19 outbreak as it hindered production schedules and resulted in delays for the third season and although there is no renewal announcement or no specific release date, our prediction is that if in case the fourth instalment is renewed by this year, we could expect to see Harrow season 4 by late 2022 or mid 2023 at the most.

Harrow ratings: Is the show worth watching?

The series Harrow received an IMDb rating of 7.6 out of 10. On rotten tomatoes, it secured an 83% tomatometer rating. Plus, it has received a good response from both viewers and critics. Hence, it’s definitely worth giving a try!

Harrow season 3 Recap!

Harrow’s drama is generally episodic. An ongoing season story arc occurs amid other plot lines. In season 3 of Harrow, we saw Dr Harrow. His attempt to reconnect with his son James (who was thought to be dead) had everybody’s attention. In the season 3 finale, James is kidnapped. Dr. Harrow, Fern, and Callan work to negotiate his release. 

After saving James, Dr Harrow learns the truth. He finds out that James was never actually his son. Tanya, James’ mother, reveals to Dr Harrow that. As aforesaid, ABC producers in Harrow have yet to confirm their hit medical drama for season four. In October 2019, season 3 was released. Moreover, its third season followed around 16 months, which suggests that season three of the finale and season four of the first period totaled around 19 months. 

In addition, pandemic issues have heavily delayed the production of Harrow. Nevertheless, although there is no renewal announcement or specific release date, the situation may change. That said, you may expect to see Harrow season 4 either by the end of 2022 or later in 2023. However, there hasn’t been any official announcement as of yet.
