Cruella’s Emma Thompson is reportedly in talks for Tackle Box Productions’ upcoming action thriller, titled, ‘The Fisherwoman’ which will narrate the chain of events that follow when a fisherwoman, encounters the kidnapping of a teenager and soon realizes that no one is coming to the child’s and she herself is the only hope. Tackle Box Productions is a film, TV and digital production company that is based in Nashville. They are generally known for their works such as ‘Dear Rodeo: The Cody Johnson Story’, likewise producing some of Cody Johnson’s music videos, ‘Theme Queen’ and so on. ‘The Fisherwoman’ will feature Emma Thompson as a widowed protagonist from Minnesota.
Emma Thompson is an established actress with several of Hollywood’s popular movies serving as testimonies of the actress’ talent. Having been raised in London, the actress saw her television debut with ‘Not the Nine O’ Clock News’ which was followed by several blockbusters such as ‘Nanny McPhee’ wherein she played the iconic character from Christianna Brand’s novels, ‘Sense and Sensibility’ (the Jane Austen adaptation), ‘Love Actually’ and others. Though the upcoming thriller is yet to announce a release date, it is most likely that Emma Thompson will indeed be playing the lead role.
Shooting to Commence This Fall
The Fisherwoman’ will reportedly commence its shooting this fall with producers Greg Silverman (CEO of Stampede Ventures), Jon Berg, Gideon Yu, Chris Bosco, Jonas Katzenstein, Maximilian Leo, Jonathan Saubach, Sam Hall and Michael Rothstein backing the film. The production team consists of established producers with Jon Berg and Greg Silverman (co produced ‘Wonder Woman’ and certain works under Warner Bros respectively) among others. Brian Kirk, an Irish film/ television director is set to take up the direction for the upcoming movie. Brian Kirk is massively popular for almost all of his directorial entertainers including ‘Game of Thrones’ (some episodes) and ‘The Tudors’ among TV series’ and ’21 Bridges’ among films. Joining the crew for ‘The Fisherwoman’ are writers Nicholas Jacobson-Larson and Dalton Leeb. Nicholas Jacobson-Larson is known for his work in movies such as ‘The Hate You Give’ and ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ while Dalton Leeb is known for his entertainers ‘One Day Like Rain’ and ‘Danny Roane: First Time Director’. The duo, alongside, some of Hollywood’s well known creators is set to give their audience maximum impact through this upcoming production.
It will be refreshing to see Emma Thompson is an action role following her recent films that are more fantasy and fiction centered. The protagonist’s character seems apt for the renowned actress as she is known for her unique character portrayals. What’s left for fans to ponder upon is when exactly is this upcoming action thriller premiering and hopefully that date is near!
