Will there be a season 2 of Defending Jacob?
Hate breaking this to you guys – but the eight episodes of Defending Jacob season 1 covered the entire story of Landay’s novel. So, will Defending Jacob season 2 return? At the time of this writing, ain’t gonna lie, the chances do seem pretty slim.
But but but – the fact that the previous season did so well and got an amazing audience response, it would be stupid not to renew the series for the second edition. Also, let’s not forget, Defending Jacob is among the top-rated shows on Apple TV. That said, the streaming platform may be interested in renewing the crime drama series for the second season.
Speaking to Deadline, the show’s creator and writer Mark Bomback said: “It was sent to me by [production company] Anonymous Content with the idea it would be a film.”
“I was thinking this was going to be an uphill battle making this a film…so I called them back and said I’m not interested in doing a film…but I would love to try and do a limited series version of it.” – Mark Bomback.

Defending Jacob season 2 release date
As aforementioned, the renewal announcements for the series to kick off with season 2 hasn’t been made yet. Hence, there’s no release date for Defending Jacob season two at the moment. However, we speculate the series to air by 2024 or later, if the renewal is done in 2023.
