Thirsty Vagabond’s upcoming project, titled ‘Silent Day’ is rumored to star Cecep Rahman, Martin East and Amanda Rawles in primary roles. Thirsty Vagabond is an emerging production company who will we collaborating with Unchartered Features for this upcoming feature film. Cecep Arif Rahman is a popular Indonesian actor whose films include ‘The Raid’, ‘Legend of Gatotkaca’, ‘Juara’, ‘John Wick 3’ and more. He is also skilled in martial arts which often makes an appearance in his works. Martin East is a known actor while Amanda Rawles is an actress/ model whose popular works include, ‘Dear Nathan’ and its sequels, ‘Jailangkung’, ‘The Perfect Husband’ and more. Together, the trio will potentially be joined by additional actors in lead roles.
The feature film will commence its production soon in Indonesia with Mike McDougall joining the crew as the film’s director. Mike Mcdougall is known for his works ‘That Loving Feeling,’ ‘The Bottom Turn’ and more. David Zilberberg, the producer of ‘Where We Go from Here’ and ‘The Moderator’ among others, will be heading the production team for ‘Silent Day’.
Plot of ‘Silent Day’
‘Silent Day’ will narrate the story of two sisters, who decide to travel to Indonesia to reconnect with their mother’s culture. Jaya is a professional skateboarder, with a troubled history of her own while Meredith is an Instagram influencer who is haunted by the suicide of a rival. As they arrive at Bali to participate in Nyepi, the “Day of Silence”, which is carried out by prohibiting fire, light, electricity, traveling and revelry for the day, they’re invited by their uncle, Komang a Policeman, to a temple ceremony. However, trouble ensues when hotel guests violates the traditions of the day which results in Komang becoming violent. Despite the residents apologizing and carrying out an improvised ceremony of atonement, the matter takes a devastating turn and the scene becomes violent as a decapitated head of one of the other guests is found, lying on the floor of a bedroom. Soon, the people present, realize that Komang has become possessed by an evil spirit thought to be Rangda, the witch Queen of Bali. The rest of the film follows how the group tries to stay alive, fighting off Komang by seeking refuge indoors and summoning Barong, the King of Spirits. Yet, there is no guarantee that they would survive the night as Komang, being posessed by Rangda, has already found his way in and is determined to end them.
