Steven Soderbergh’s next project is supposedly a thriller titled ‘Black Bag’ which will potentially star Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender in lead roles. Not much is known regarding the plot or the crew of the upcoming feature film but the spy thriller will most likely have its screenplay composed by David Koepp.
Steven Soderbergh is an award winning director/ producer whose recent works include ‘Once Within a Time’ which premiered in 2023, ‘Full Circle’ a TV mini series which he also directed and ‘Is That Black Enough for You?!?’ which has a 7.3/10 rating on IMDB. ‘Command Z’ is another one of the projects that was directed by Steven Soderbergh in 2023. David Koepp who will possibly compose the screenplay for the upcoming feature film is an accomplished writer whose past works include ‘Jurassic Park’ which premiered in 1993, ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’ the fifth film in the franchise and ‘Inferno’ which is a book adaptation, to name a few. The two artists will be reuniting for the upcoming project following their work in ‘Presence’ which premiered this year as a horror themed thriller.
Cate Blanchett who is an established actress and writer was last seen in ‘What If…? In which she reprised her role as Hela, the Asgardian Goddess. Michael Fassbender is a popular actor who is primarily known for his roles Walter/ David in the ‘Alien’ film series, Erik Lehnsherr/ Magneto in the ‘X-Men’ franchise and more. Both Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender previously co- starred in the movie ‘Song to Song’ which premiered in 2017 in the roles Amanda and Cook respectively. The upcoming project is predicted to commence its filming soon in London, but official updates are yet to be made on the matter. Seeing as how the film is said to be a spy thriller, intense action packed sequences are a possibility and with the stellar leads that the film is rumored to star, its already an anticipated hit.
