Boruto Chapter 55: Summary
Boruto Chapter 55 brought shocking revelation with the death of nine tailed foxes Kurama and Sasuke losing his significant power. The fans also came to face with the reality that Naruto wasn’t the only one who got affected in the battle. Sasuke, who was stabbed in the eye by Boruto, also loses his power. Momoshiki is seen taking control of Boruto and used him to stabbing Sasuke in his left eye with rinnegan. The new chapter revealed that Sasuke could no longer use rinnegan. For defeating Isshiki, the team is left stranded in dimension. They are unaware of the escape. The dimension served the purpose of Naruto and Sasuke to avoid fighting in the hidden leaf village. Naruto is seen requesting the others to open a space-time portal to return home. Sasuke tries to lift the heavy atmosphere by saying that they all went into the fight with the resolution to die. As Boruto glances over at Sasuke, he confesses that his Rinnegan is now useless. In the chapter, Kurama is shown feeling tired after using the Baryon mode. In a conversation between Naruto and Kurama, the beast reveals that it would be the last conversation between them, and he had come just to bid goodbye. In the conversation, the Kurama also mentions that when a beast s extracted from Jinchurki, the latter tends to die. But this would not happen in the case of Naruto as the usage of Baryon mode took place because of a strong bond. Naruto would not die because the tailed beast has finished, and the extraction fails to take place.
Before leaving Naruto, Kurama states that had he known earlier that Baryon mode’s price would mean the death of the tailed beast, he would never have agreed on the deal. This is why Kurama did not tell Naruto about the consequences of using the mode. He knew that if Naruto had known about it, then he would never have agreed on the plan. Kurama leaves after warning that Naruto isn’t a jinchuriki anymore, and he has to fight his battle alone. He also advises Naruto to have faith in his companions and be careful afterward. Naruto begs Kurama to stay, but to no avail, he leaves. In chapter 54, Naruto was seen exhausted after using the Baryon mode, and the fans feared his life. However, Kurama had managed to deceive both Naruto and the readers.
The chapter started on the note of Naruto thinking he is dead, but Kurama consoles him by informing him that he is still alive and just unconscious. The new chapter also shows the birth of a new otsutsuki. The scene shifts from Kuramas death to Code, who wakes up from a nap and says that unlike Kawaki, he is a failed vessel. However, Isshiki appeals and instructs Code that after his death, Code would inherit the powers of an Otsutsuki. His mission would be to feed Kawaki and Boruto to the ten-tails and grow the sacred trees with the inherited powers. Isshiki has led Code on a path of doom and destruction with the inheritance. Isshiki has used Code’s attachment to him for fulfilling his desire even as he dies.
