Bérénice Bejo recently starred in ‘The Movie Teller’ a family drama in which she took on the role of María Magnolia. The film also starred Daniel Brühl, Antonio de la Torre, Sara Becker and Alondra Valenzuela, among others. With the film having been met with several positive responses, there are a lot of rumors surrounding what the potential future projects of its cast members are. One among the works that Bérénice Bejo is presumably working on is an upcoming drama film titled ‘Mexico 86’. Set in the 70s, Mexico, the film follows an activist from Guatemala who fights against a corrupt dictatorship and consequentially is forced to flee to Mexico, with her son being left behind. Years later, the two reunite which leads the protagonist into a dilemma wherein she gets stuck between her cause and parenting.
A known actress, Bérénice Bejo has been active in both the film and television industry for nearly three decades. Some of her other recent on-screen appearances besides ‘The Movie Teller’ are ‘Dérive’ a short drama, ‘Sisterhood’ which was directed by Nora el Hourch, ‘Sous le tapis’ a dramedy and ‘Hawaii’ a comedy which also starred Élodie Bouchez among others. As of now, Bérénice Bejo appears to be the only cast addition to ‘Mexico 86’.

‘Mexico 86’ is supposedly a direction under Cesar Diaz. Cesar Diaz is an emerging artist whose previous works include ‘Our Mothers’ a drama film which premiered in 2019 and ‘Territorio liberado’ a documentary which premiered in 2014, to name a few. The upcoming feature film is seemingly a production under Menuetto Film, Need Productions and Pimienta Films.
