Pretty exciting news for fans as they do not have to wait for months about the prospect of the show’s future. The heart-warming comedy series has been officially ordered for a fourth season by Apple TV+. The renewal announcement came just days ahead of the series’ third season’s finale.
The official synopsis describes: “Season three follows Nikki (Esther Smith) and Jason (Rafe Spall) as the couple continues to face the odd challenges — legal and parental — in the adoption process. While Nikki and Jason are still learning how to connect with the two children that they have taken under their wing, the season finale teases that the duo makes an impulsive decision as they prepare to learn whether they will be allowed to continue raising the kids.”
The series’ cast comprises Esther Smith as Nikki Newman, Rafe Spall as Jason Ross alongside Oliver Chris as Freddy, Sian Brooke as Karen, Darren Boyd as Scott, Robyn Cara as Jen, Mickey McAnulty portrays Tyler and Eden Togwell as Princess.
“Trying” was conceived by Andy Wolton who also serves as executive producer and writer. Series director Jim O’Hanlon and Josh Cole also serve as executive producers.
In a previous conversation with Screen Rant, series star Rafe Spall chatted about the show’s charm. “I think that one of the things that keeps the show going is a rich, varied landscape of characters. You need the show to move beyond its original conceit of a couple trying to adapt to a group of people that an audience member wants to hang out with once a year. And I think Andy has done a really good job of creating a rich cast of people that are all spinning plates that can all go in different directions,” explained Spall.
Spall summed up: “All of my favorite shows have got that. And even though Nikki and Jason are at the center of this show, it’s been really fun to see all of the different characters come to the fore. If we go on and do more of this show, I look forward to seeing what else comes and what else he’s up to.”
The first season of “Trying” was released on May 1, 2020 on Apple TV+. The second season was launched on May 21, 2021, and the third season aired on 22 July 2022 and will end on September 2, 2022.
As of now, there isn’t much information about the upcoming fourth season. Fans probably need to wait for a while for official updates.
