Another feature film is soon to reportedly stream on Apple TV with a plotline featuring the scandal surrounding Sam Bankman-Fried. Titled as, ‘Going Infinite’, the upcoming feature film is being taken up under Apple Studios. Apple Studios is a film and television production company under Apple. Some of their productions include, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ which premiered in 2023 and starred Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons and Brendan Fraser among others, ‘Emancipation’ which is directed by Antoine Fuqua, ‘The Beanie Bubble’ a dramedy which is directed by Kristin Gore and Damian Kulash, ‘Raymond and Ray’ which premiered in 2022 and ‘Swan Song’ which featured Mahershala Ali and more in the cast, to name a few.
Joining the crew for ‘Going Infinite’ as the film’s writer is Michael Lewis. Michael Lewis is primarily known as an author and the upcoming feature film is an adaptation of his novel titled as, ‘Going Infinite: The Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon’. His other works include, ‘The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine’ which received a 4.3/5 on Goodreads, ‘Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game’ which was published in 2003, ‘The Premonition: A Pandemic Story’ which is based on the COVID- 19 pandemic, and more. Currently, the upcoming project is under active development and is predicted to commence its filming soon.
Sam Bankman-Fried and the Bankruptcy of FTX
Sam Bankman-Fried was the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange named as FTX which was actively run until news on supposed frauds surrounding the exchange began to surface which led to several investors withdrawing their investments. This was followed by FTX declaring itself bankrupt in 2022. Sam Bankman-Fried was eventually found guilty of fraud.
The upcoming feature film will potentially follow the entire span of events from Sam Bankman-Fried being seen as worth up to $26B in paper holdings at one point, during FTX’s functioning, followed by Sam Bankman-Fried resigning as CEO of the company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2022. Seeing as how ‘Going Infinite’ will be based on Michael Lewis’s book with the same title, the book will potentially serve as the source text for the film’s screenplay.
Not much is known regarding the cast, crew or the status of the upcoming feature film, yet, there is a possibility of the film showcasing the recent Sam Bankman-Fried’s trial that took place in October, through which he was revealed to be guilty of the charges pressed against him.
