Gaining instant fan base following its release, alongside having two successful seasons with notable action sequences, the video game adaptation, ‘Gangs of London’s upcoming season has got viewers by the storm as they anticipate the further progress of the plot.
Originally created by Gareth Evans and Matt Flannery, the series showcased the sudden imbalance of power and the troubles caused by it, when the head of London’s most influential crime family is assassinated, resembling the familiar “Corleone Family” trope. Starring Joe Cole, the popular star from Netflix’s Peaky Blinders, ‘Gangs of London’ was noted for its largely intense action packed sequences and unpredictable twists with ‘Empire’ describing the first season as “A stylish, homebrewed gang drama”.
With a lot of heavy action scenes in almost every episode and a largely grey mood, ‘Gangs of London’s first two seasons were definitely packed with adrenaline rushes. So how is that going to progress in this upcoming season?
Well, season 3 of ‘Gangs of London’ can be expected to primarily focus on Elliot’s newfound power and how Sean fights to get back at the top. Perhaps the biggest shocker in the series was the revelation that Sean was indeed alive all this time and with new gangs entering the power struggle, Sean will have to step up his game.
The upcoming season is rumored to be directed by Farren Blackburn (Daredevil), with Mike Eagle-Hodgson Gareth Evans, Matt Flannery, Thomas Benski, Hugh Warren, Helen Grégory, Gabriel Silver and Jane Featherstone potentially forming the production team.
Actors Joe Cole, Sope Dirisu and Michelle Fairly among others will potentially reprise their roles for the upcoming season.
Location, Status and More
There haven’t been any official news regarding new cast members, location or the time of production. Yet, following the former two seasons, the upcoming season will possibly be shot in London with the shooting hopefully commencing sometime around October this year. ‘Gangs of London’ will supposedly air in AMC and Sky Atlantic as the previous seasons did.
With the demand for action and crime thrillers rising more than ever as indicated by the popularity of series such as Snowpiercer, Peaky Blinders and so on, ‘Gangs of London’s upcoming season is definitely one to add to your ‘To be Watched List’. The first season also featured popular songs such as ‘Only You’ by The Platters and ‘Tears on my Pillow’ by Little Anthony and The Imperials and with the new season hitting television anytime now, you are guaranteed nothing short of a congenial mix that you can binge on repeat!
