Fidelis Productions’ ‘American Rust’ has supposedly been renewed for another season, which will continue the tale of Del Harris and the people around him. Set in Rust Belt, a Pennsylvania steel town, American Rust is a story of the lost American dream and the desperation involving friendship, loyalty, and love that arise from its ruins. The series had its first season premiere in 2021. The series received a rating of 7.2/10 on IMDB and was met with generally positive reviews. Now with the crew gearing up for a second season, there are already talks surrounding another new season of ‘American Rust’.
The first season was centered on a murder that leads to Del Harris, the chief of police, investigating the case, only to find that it is tied to two friends Isaac English and Billy Poe, one of whom happens to be the son of Del Harris’ love interest. Fidelis Productions, who developed the series is a surfacing production company. The first season of ‘American Rust’ premiered on Showtime. The upcoming seasons are expected to stream on Freevee with Platform One Media, Boat Rocker and Amazon MGM Studios joining the crew.
‘American Rust’ was originally a novel composed by Philipp Meyer which was released in February 2009.
Dan Futterman to Reprise his Role as the Creator of ‘American Rust’
The screenplay for the upcoming seasons of ‘American Rust’ will be written by Dan Futterman. Dan Futterman is a known actor/ screenwriter whose works include, ‘Urbania’ which premiered in 2000, ‘Enough’ which starred Jennifer Lopez and Billy Campbell, ‘Foxcatcher’ which was directed by Bennett Miller. Paul Martino, Michael De Luca, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Elisa Ellis, Jeff Daniels and Adam Rapp were part of the production crew are are predicted to return for the upcoming seasons of ‘American Rust’. Paul Martino is additionally known for, ‘Inside Game’ which premiered in 2019 and more. Michael De Luca is a known producer and the CEO of Warner Bros. Katie O’Connell Marsh and Elisa Ellis are emerging producers. Adam Rapp is an established author, screenwriter, director and more.
Jeff Daniels played the role of Del Harris in the first season for ‘American Rust’. He is predicted to return for season 2 and 3 of the TV series. Jeff Daniels is a known actor/ producer whose works include, ‘Dumb and Dumber’ film series, ‘The Newsroom’ which ran for 3 seasons, ‘Arachnophobia’ which was directed by Frank Marshall, ‘The Squid and the Whale’ which premiered in 2005 and more. Maura Tierney will also presumably reprise her role for the upcoming seasons.
