Josh and Gabi’s up and down relationship saw a new beginning in season five of Young and Hungry which ended with the airing of its finale episode in July 2018. And to the fans’ dismay, its fifth season concluded the series. Although the cancelation was announced before the fifth part’s last round of episodes, fans are still holding out hope for a season six. So, will Young and hungry return for a sixth season or not? Young and Hungry Renewal Status: Is it yet Renewed or cancelled?

Young and Hungry has a slim chance of returning to our screens because it was officially canceled on 15 March 2018. However, if a streaming giant like Netflix picks up the series, fans can expect a season six of the Young and Hungry sooner than later. On March 15, 2018, it was officially announced that the fifth season would be the last. The final ten episodes premiered on June 20, 2018, and concluded on July 25, 2018. A series finale movie was initially announced with the cancellation, but was scrapped on August 24, 2018.

Young and Hungry made its debut on Freeform in June 2014 and was received well by fans and critics alike. With that, the series spawned four additional seasons with its fifth chapter getting the go-ahead in October 2016. Furthermore, a full-length movie was also confirmed in March 2018 that was supposed to wrap up the events of the sitcom. But unfortunately, it was jettisoned in August 2018. Thus, fans are left with the obvious question of whether Gabi and Josh will have a happily ever after or not. Young and Hungry Season 6 Release Date

Will Young and Hungry season 6 happen? The show had five successful seasons on the air. In 2014, Young and Hungry debuted on Freeform, which was formerly known as ABC Family. 

The sitcom, which was filmed in San Francisco and stars Emily Osment as Gabi Diamond, a feisty foodie who is hired as a personal chef for millionaire software entrepreneur Josh Kaminski (Jonathan Sadowski, Live Free Or Die Hard), was inspired by food blogger Gabi Moskowitz of BrokeAss Gourmet fame.

The fact that Gabi and Josh have an inebriated one-night encounter and obviously enjoy each other complicates their professional relationship. The enamored couple had an on-again, off-again romance for a few seasons on Young and Hungry before they eventually got together at the end of the first half of season 5. 

The latter part of season 5, which concluded on a cliffhanger with Gabi proposing to Josh and asking him to move to Seattle with her, was finally broadcast on Freeform in 2018 after a year-long break.

Freeform declared in March 2018 that Young and Hungry had been cancelled before the last 10 episodes had even aired. Considering that season 5A and 5B had a year-long break, the cancellation of the show might have been anticipated. 

However, according to actress Emily Osment, the cast and crew appeared to be fairly positive that a sixth season of Young and Hungry was in the works, and the cliffhanger at the end of the show would surely imply as much. Let’s see what happens next!

David Holden has created all the prior parts of Young and Hungry, and also, executive produced the series alongside David Hartle, Tony Carey, and Caryn Lucas among others. 

Young and Hungry season 6 Plotline: What would it be like?

With no official word on season sixth, revealing its exact plot synopsis is a bit tricky. Nevertheless, season fifth closed with a few loose threads dangling including what would happen to Gabi and Josh’s relationship after Gabi accepts her new job offer. Will Josh agree to move to Settle or perhaps the couple will be in a term-long relationship? Season six will put these pieces together and give us a satisfying closure. 

But sadly, we don’t see it ever happening because no network is keen to deliver its future episodes yet.
