Young and Hungry Renewal Status: Is it yet Renewed or cancelled?
Young and Hungry has a slim chance of returning to our screens because it was officially canceled on 15 March 2018. However, if a streaming giant like Netflix picks up the series, fans can expect a season six of the Young and Hungry sooner than later. On March 15, 2018, it was officially announced that the fifth season would be the last. The final ten episodes premiered on June 20, 2018, and concluded on July 25, 2018. A series finale movie was initially announced with the cancellation, but was scrapped on August 24, 2018.
Young and Hungry made its debut on Freeform in June 2014 and was received well by fans and critics alike. With that, the series spawned four additional seasons with its fifth chapter getting the go-ahead in October 2016. Furthermore, a full-length movie was also confirmed in March 2018 that was supposed to wrap up the events of the sitcom. But unfortunately, it was jettisoned in August 2018. Thus, fans are left with the obvious question of whether Gabi and Josh will have a happily ever after or not. Though the series lead, Emily Osment hinted in her tweet that the film would have portrayed the main characters tying the knot at the end.” Yet fans are keen to know what happens next after season five, which ended on a cliffhanger.
Young and Hungry Season 6 Cast: Who would return?
Emily Osment portrays the character of Gabi Diamond, who gets the job as the personal chef of Josh Kaminski. Osment’s Gabi is inspired by a food blogger based in San Franciso, Gabi Moskowitz. Jonathan Sadowski plays the role of the tech million, Josh Kaminiski. Thus, in case a sixth season ever happens, fans would be thrilled to see them reprising their respective roles. Josh’s staff consists of Sofia Rodriguez, Yolanda, and Elliot Park in addition to Gabi. The previous seasons have also seen several celebrity roles by Ashley Tisdale, Andy Buckerly, Jose Moreno Brooks, and Betty White.
David Holden has created all the prior parts of Young and Hungry, and also, executive produced the series alongside David Hartle, Tony Carey, and Caryn Lucas among others.
Young and Hungry season 6 Plotline: What would it be like?
With no official word on season sixth, revealing its exact plot synopsis is a bit tricky. Nevertheless, season fifth closed with a few loose threads dangling including what would happen to Gabi and Josh’s relationship after Gabi accepts her new job offer. Will Josh agree to move to Settle or perhaps the couple will be in a term-long relationship? Season six will put these pieces together and give us a satisfying closure.
But sadly, we don’t see it ever happening because no network is keen to deliver its future episodes yet.
