Stranger Things fans were overjoyed to learn that season 4 will not be the final season of the Netflix show after speculations about Stranger Things 4 would be the final outing. It was soon confirmed by showmakers Matt and Ross that the show is definitely not ending with season 4 just yet. Stranger Things fans can now rest assured. Phew! But does that mean there’s another season on its way? Let’s find out.
Strangers Things season 4 is premiering on May 27, 2022, and I believe it’s a bit early to talk about season 5. But then again we’ve done some detective work to find out more about Stranger Things Season 5. Without further ado, let’s dive into the details.
Stranger Things 5: When will it be released?
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Ross Duffer said “Season 4 won’t be the end. We know what the end is, and we know when it is. [The COVID-19 pandemic] has given us time to look ahead, figure out what is best for the show. Starting to fill that out gave us a better idea of how long we need to tell that story.”
Stars David Harbour and Noah Schnapp have dropped hints about the possibility of a fifth season in numerous interviews as well, with Noah explaining UK host Lorraine: “I can’t imagine this is the last. I feel like we would know if this was the last.”
Harbour in an interview with ET Canada said, “I think on my Netflix talking points list, I’m not supposed to say that there is a fifth season, but because you said it Jessica, I will say, and I’m also not supposed to know anything about it, but I will say that, sure.”
“If you were on set with someone doing a show that possibly might have a fifth season, I’m sure that those people, if you were close to them, as I am with the Duffer Brothers, would probably bring up things that might move forward into that next season.”
Furthermore, season 5 doesn’t have a release date as of now but if we have to predict a air date, fans will get the new season sometime in 2023.
Stranger Things 5: Will it be the final season?
It’s unknown whether the fifth season will be the last season but the Duffer brothers don’t want to keep on continuing the show just for the sake of it. The Duffer brothers also mentioned that they do have in mind how the the the show will end. The fourth season’s ending will likely set an atmosphere to continue the story in the fifth season.
