Welcome to Waikiki is a South Korean comedy drama series that was launched in 2018 on JTBC network. With the success of the first series, the makers announced a second season on June 6, 2018, which premiered on March 25, 2019. Both seasons 1 & 2 earned massive popularity across the globe. Unfortunately, no official update or word has been concerning a third season of Welcome to Waikiki. As it stands, it looks like the viewers will not be getting a season three. Lee Yi Kyung was the only main cast member who returned in season 2 of the popular Korean drama series. Lee Yi Kyung on Welcome to Waikiki Season 3

Lee Yi Kyung, the only main cast member to return for “Welcome to Waikiki 2,” expressed his desire to return for a third season if it were to be renewed. When asked about the possibility of returning, he stated, “I’d like it if there were a third and fourth season. There’s no reason for me not to join, and I’d like it if the cast stayed the same.” However, he also mentioned that the cast hasn’t spoken much about the possibility of a new season. The second season of the show aired its finale on May 14, 2019, and had lower than desirable ratings, but there have still been calls from viewers for a third season. Lee Yi Kyung compared the two seasons, stating, “In a way, season one was really taxing physically. But season two was mentally exhausting.” Despite the challenges, he expressed his willingness to continue with the show if given the opportunity.
