‘‘We are the Wave’’ is a television series full of mysteries, chills and twists. Launched on the 1st of November 2019, it is based on a young adult novel called ‘The Wave’ written by Todd Strasser. The series is directed by Anca Miruna and Mark Monheim. It is re-written for the show by a group of writers namely, Jan Berger, Ipek Zubert, Kai Hafemeister, Thorsten Wettcke and Christine Heinlein. It is set in the German language, being a German show. The major cast includes Ludwig Simon, Luise Befort, Michelle Barthel, Daniel Friedl and Mohamed Issa. Produced by Christain Becker, the brilliant cinematography has been done by Jan Marcello Kahl.

We Are The Wave Season 1: Plotline

Coming back to the show, the first season had 6 episodes namely, ‘Do You Know That Feeling?’, ‘What’s Wrong With You?’, ‘What’s Next?’, ‘You’re Destroying Everything’, ‘The 99%!’ and ‘It’s The Only Way’. The plot of the series revolves around a fictional place called Meppersfeld in which lives a group of teenagers who aim to fight for justice and solve social problems. There are a lot of twists and turns along with characters joining in between.

Can we expect We Are The Wave Season 2 anytime soon?

Speaking of season 2, some articles and reports state that season 2 will most definitely happen and as far as the speculation goes, the show was expected to get renewed by the end of 2021 but unfortunately, things didn’t go according to plan. To put it, we’re already in May 2022 and the series still hasn’t been renewed yet.

It’s not known if the show makers are willing to return with a second season since there has been not a single word from them concerning a new season. Could it be that the series has been discontinued? Well even if it does we’d still get information about it. So the fact that the show has neither been canceled nor renewed somewhat indicates that there is a chance for the series to make a comeback. Although we don’t know when.

For now, our prediction falls at the end of 2022 or we could witness an early 2023 release. It is also being said that the return of some characters might also take place in the series. This is because unlike other shows on Netflix, none of the deaths occurred extremely cruelly in this show which leaves a possibility of the characters being alive. These characters might be Lea, Zazie, Hagen, Tristan or Rahim.

Is the trailer out yet?

Although there is no trailer or teaser out yet, it might happen soon. Talks have been floating in the industry and among the fans that the show has done really well among the viewers, therefore the makers are probably creating hype before the launch. Shows with mysteries are awaited and hence the series goes through several sequels and seasons. On one hand, there is no information out yet or confirmed, we can only suggest fans wait patiently.
