Created by Ronan Bennett, Top Boy is a British TV crime drama series that premiered from October 31 to November 3, 2011, back to back for four nights. The first season’s DVD was published on July 22, 2013. The second season started airing on Channel 4 in August 2013 and a DVD series was published on September 16, 2013. Although the story for the third instalment was crafted, the series was axed by Channel 4 in 2014.
In November 2017 it was announced that Netflix would bring back the series and commission another season of 10 episodes along with Ashley Walters and Kane Robinson repeating their roles. Showrunner Ronan Bennett also returned to pen the script for most episodes, alongside the initial creative squad; Drake, Maverick Carter, Adel Nur, and Jamal Henderson are back to serve as executive producers.
The third season was released on the streaming giant on September 13, 2019, and was introduced as the first season, meanwhile, the initial series was also added to Netflix with the title “Top Boy: Summerhouse.” Another great news for the fans is that the series is confirmed to be returning with the fourth season and here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season.
Release Date for Top Boy Season 4: When is it?

The premiere date was later announced, with the fourth season scheduled to arrive on our screens on March 18, 2022.

Speaking with Capital XTRA, Walters informed that shooting for Top Boy took off at the end of 2021 and has proceeded into 2022 under stringent Covid-19 protocols.
“All I can say is, we are filming,” Walters said. “It’s hard, we’ve got a big cast and there’s a big crew, a lot of people involved so it’s difficult. It’s really weird filming because of how we have to set it out and make sure that certain people don’t mix with other people.”
He continued: “But we’re definitely filming! We should be finished some time this year, and hopefully it will be out some time after that.”

The plot of Top Boy Season 4: What to expect?
As of now, plot details for the upcoming fourth season have not been revealed yet. But the story would take off from where the previous season left off. This means that the next season will have more new dramas, a few twists, and turns. But the most interesting part to see is what would happen to Jamie and Dushane’s gangs now that they’ve been discovered by the undercover cop officers. Are there organizations in trouble? Will they be arrested? Hopefully, this will all be answered in the next season of Top Boy.
