The Returned or Les Revenants (French Translation) is a French horror mystery drama TV series. The series stars Anne Consigny, Frédéric Pierrot, Clotilde Hesme, Céline Sallette, Samir Guesmi, Grégory Gadebois, Guillaume Gouix, Jérôme Kircher, Laurent Lucas, and Michaël Abiteboul.
The Returned is created by Fabrice Gobert. It is based on the French movie “They Came Back” (Les Revenants) which was released in 2004 helmed by Robin Campillo. This French series premiered on November 26, 2012, on Canal+ and finished its first season containing eight episodes in total, on December 17, 2012. Not long after the first season was launched, it earned an Emmy Award for Best Drama series in 2013.
What’s the story about?
In a mountain located in a France town, numerous deceased people reoccur seemingly alive, including the victims of the school bus crash who are Camille, Simon and a boy named Victor who robbers slew, and serial killer Serge. As they attempt to proceed with their lives, unusual happenings take place: sudden power outages; a strange lowering of the community reservoir’s water level, uncovering the composure of carries and a church tower; and the entrance of odd scars on the live bodies and the dead.

As per the newest update, the series hasn’t been renewed or cancelled. It’s over 6 years and there’s still not a single word issued by the show makers. The second season premiered on September 28, 2015, with eight episodes. It later debuted in the UK and the US in October.
The global response from the audience is opulently positive. The series earned notable acclaim for its extraordinary story and twist. Given the massive popularity of the show, it should have no problem with a few more seasons but so far the future seems uncertain as it has been many years since the last season aired but we still hope that the series does make a comeback as there are fans who are waiting for the third season.
