Will The Good Place be renewed for season 5?
Guess everything won’t be fine anymore because The Good Place has officially been cancelled (sad cries in the corner). Well, the makers decided to not continue the series any further and have cancelled season 5. But if another streaming platform decides to pick up the series or a spin-off occurs, we will update this space. Until then, stay connected with us!
What happened in the last season of The Good Place?
Of all the good things that may have happened in the future had the makers greenlit the series, it’s unfortunate we aren’t getting a season 5. But the previous (or might I say the last season) was crazy balls! The concept of “Life After Death” isn’t just a hot topic on the earth but any damn place where life exists. In the series, humans are assigned a score. The very score determines whether they go to “The Good Place” or the not so good place.
Kristen Bell who plays Eleanor wasn’t the ideal type to go to ‘The Good Place’ but astonishingly enough when she dies, she’s sent there. Uh-oh, now how did that happen? You see, the paperwork stuff is mad-crazy and it always goes wrong, no matter what. Same happens with our girl Eleanor! Now that she’s in the good place, she wants to change herself and evolve into a better being.
And so, she’s assigned to a soulmate Chidi. Another person in The Good Place is Jason who does everything to hide his real story. His soulmate is Tahini. Together, the four of them take their lives on a massive toll and the audiences love anything that’s twisted – and they loved this!
But but but, another twist. ‘The Good Place’ that they were living in – well, it isn’t that good after all. In fact, it’s the Bad Place that’s designed by Michael to torture them! But Michael also has a heart and when he realises that humans can change into good people after death, he changes his plan of torture.
Fans loved this series because the concept of punishment, good/bad place, life after death is intriguing. Plus, the actors did a marvelous job and carried their personality charmingly. However, the series has been cancelled for the fifth edition so there won’t be a continuation.
Why was The Good Place cancelled?
The makers did make an official announcement as to why they cancelled the series. They said that initially when they started it, they didn’t have plans to extend it so far.
“Now with almost 50 episodes down the lane, it was time for the show to end. People close to the show are also sad about its ending; it is only because of the happy and joyous memories it gave to each and everyone associated with it.”
The series metamorphosed over the years. Each and every season was amazing plus the last season didn’t disappoint either.
