“The Baby-Sitters Club” features popular stories in Stoneybrook, where a group of friends manage The Baby-Sitters Club, a babysitting service. This grand coming-of-age narrative emphasizes how crucial childhood friendships are.
Many adaptations of The Baby-Sitters Club have been made, but Netflix’s reboot is the most successful. The series’ first season debuted in July 2020, while Season 2 debuted in October 2021.
That said, there has been much speculation regarding The Baby-Sitters Club season 3–here’s everything you need to know!
Will “The Baby-Sitters Club Season 3” be renewed or canceled?
Unfortunately, news of the show’s cancellation for a third season broke in March 2022. I had the incredible opportunity to be a part of the universe that Ann M. Martin built for two incredible seasons. I’ve wanted to be a part of it since I was seven. “It was absolutely incredible,” expressed showrunner Rachel Shukert.
“Although I’m sad to be leaving Stoneybrook after 20 seasons, I’m incredibly proud of the fantastic show that our great cast and crew made and how it helped countless people when they were down and out. Please accept our sincere gratitude to Walden Media and Netflix for allowing us to share our beloved characters—Kristy, Claudia, Stacey, Mary Anne, Dawn, Jessi, and Mallory—with a new audience that we are certain will adore them for many years to come.”
Summer 2020 saw the debut of the show’s first season, and October 2021 saw the release of season 2. If things had continued along that trajectory, season three would have premiered in 2022. Netflix, however, has stated that this is *not* the case.
Also, Deadline reports that Netflix did not find it sufficient to extend The Baby-Sitters Club. Only appearing on Netflix’s Top 10 list for a week, at No. 9, the series never managed to attract a sizable audience.
With more than 130 volumes in its canon, The Baby-Sitters Club may return to the big screen at some point. But as of yet, there are no formal announcements whatsoever; do watch out for more updates!
The Baby-Sitters Club Season Three Cast: Who will return?
Though the show was canceled, imagining who would have returned for Season 3 is fun. Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph), Mary Anne Spier (Malia Baker), Dawn Schafer (Kyndra Sanchez), Jessi Ramsey (Anais Lee), and Mallory (Vivian Watson) likely would have returned as they balanced family, their growing babysitting business, and school.
Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer (Alicia Silverstone), Watson Brewer (Mark Feuerstein), Richard Spier (Marc Evan Jackson), and Sharon Porter (Jessica Elaina Eason) were likely to return.
The Baby-Sitters Club Season 3 Release Date
Unfortunately, Netflix canceled the Tween series The Baby-Sitters Club after two seasons. The announcement came on Friday, March 11. Deadline reports that The Baby-Sitters Club’s streaming performance influenced the decision.
The Baby-Sitters Club is Netflix’s third successful tween/teen series to be canceled. The 2019 first was Anne with an E. Fans fought to resurrect the show. Fans of Julie and the Phantoms were in limbo for over a year before its 2021 termination.
