Brian Meere’s upcoming direction will certainly intrigue you. Titled, ‘Martyr of Gowanus’, the feature film is set in 2001 and explores the events that take place in the lives of Gavin and Angel, two people who reside in the then Brooklyn. Potentially starring Sawyer Spielberg and Adam Cropper, ‘Martyr of Gowanus’ begins in a confrontation wherein Gavin, a housepainter accuses Angel, a immigrant teenager, of stealing his fishing rod. This is followed by the normal events that takes place in both their lives that somehow ties the two together. However, this normal proceeding is suddenly interrupted by the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center which dramatically alters their lives. Taken up under Pipe Dream Productions, the movie will focus on how Gavin becomes inspired from the attack to protect Angel.
Brian Meere, is a director/ producer who will be working alongside Joey Dwyer, Angela Mickey and Rebecca LaGore among other members of the crew, to direct the upcoming feature film. Lorry Werner and John Bertrand will be joining the crew as the producers of ‘Martyr of Gowanus’.
Sawyer Spielberg and Adam Cropper to be Joined by Other Cast Members
Though the official cast list for the film is yet to be announced, it is possible that Sawyer Spielberg and Adam Cropper will be joined by actors Liam Obergfoll, Briana Aponte, Frank Ridley, Fred Tolliver Jr. and Holt McCallany. Sawyer Spielberg is the son of the filmmaking icon Steven Spielberg. Sawyer Spielberg is a talented artist himself, popular for his roles in movie, ‘Honeydew’, and the miniseries, ‘Masters of the Air’. Adam Cropper is an actor/writer, who is known for his work in ‘Tenet’ and ‘Timeless’. Liam Obergfoll is another popular actor who has appeared in ‘Every Witch Way’ and ‘Twelve’. Briana Aponte is known for her roles in ‘Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’, among others. Frank Ridley is both a film and television actor who is popular for his character portrayals in ‘Edge of Darkness’, ‘Don’t Look Up’, ‘Mr. Harrigan’s Phone’ and many more. Fred Tolliver Jr. gained popularity through ‘Red Hook Summer’ and ‘Bad Hurt’. A renowned actor, Holt McCallany is known for his role as Agent Bill Tench on Netflix’s ‘Midhunter’. His other works include ‘Wrath of Man’, ‘Lights Out’ (series) and ‘Shot Caller’ among others.
9/11 was a shocking and tragic incident that occured in 2001 which resulted in the deaths of several US civilians. The terrorist attack impacted the lives of many both directly and indirectly, as the country as a whole was left with a terrifying future. ‘Martyr of Gowanus’, explores the impact that the incident had in one such individual who feels the need to act as a savior for the teenager when he encounters a crime unfold. What is left to see is how Gavin’s endeavor concludes.
