Léa Rinaldi’s upcoming project is set to commence its filming in the Summer of the following year with Niels Schneider, Samir Guesmi, Slimane Dazi and more joining the cast. Titled as, ‘Des Rives’, the film will narrate the story of Luna, a 35 year old designer who reconnects with her ethnic roots. For the film, Léa Rinaldi will be joining the crew as its director. The emerging filmmaker is known for her works, ‘Esto es lo que hay’ which premiered in 2015 as a musical, ‘Behind Jim Jarmusch’ a documentary on Jim Jarmusch and ‘Travelling at night with Jim Jarmusch’ a supposed sequel. Additionally, she will be composing the upcoming feature film’s screenplay. Niels Schneider was previously seen in ‘Coup de chance’ which premiered in September, this year. Samir Guesmi is a known actor with almost 3 decades of experience in the film industry. Some of his popular works are, ‘The Aquatic Effect’ in which he played the role of Samir and ‘Ibrahim’ which is a 2020 feature film. Slimane Dazi is another established actor whose works include, ‘Paris Prestige’ a drama, ‘Welcome to Norway!’ in which he played the role of Zoran, and more. Other members of the cast for ‘Des Rives’ include, Brigitte Sy, Valérie Kaprisky, Alex Vizorek and Daphne Scoccia.
‘Des Rives’ is an Aléa Films project and is predicted to have a number of popular tourist spots such as Cannes, Corsica & Lérins Islands, France Ibiza, Andalusia and Tunisia making an appearance.
Plot of ‘Des Rives’
‘Des Rives’ takes its audience through a journey alongside the Parisian shoe designer, Luna who is left with the tough decision to sell her father’s sailboat, who left too early. However, her attachment with the object drives her to steal her own boat, following its sale. What follows is the protagonist embarking on the adventure of the seas alongside Eli, a young skipper. Though the boat is sought after, the duo does not back out from their journey and continue to explore the rich and unpredictable Mediterranean. This is one course of adventure, damage, treasures, confrontations and blows of madness that ultimately helps Luna in connecting with her roots.
The screenplay for the upcoming feature film will be taken up by Nicolas Fleureau and Florence Faure alongside Léa Rinaldi. Nicolas Fleureau is a known screenwriter whose works include, ‘Chien de la Casse’ which was directed by Jean-Baptiste Durand. Florence Faure is an emerging artist. Kwassa Films and Asterisk, two known production companies will be joining Aléa Films for the development of ‘Des Rives’.
