Director Andrew DeYoung’s upcoming project appears to be a feature film titled, ‘Friendship’ which is rumored to star Kate Mara and Paul Rudd in primary roles. Centered on a person’s attempt in protecting his family from an unusual neighbor, the upcoming feature film is currently under production. Known for his work in entertainers across multiple genres and comedies in particular, Andrew DeYoung has been an active filmmaker for more than a decade. In the upcoming project, besides direction, he will also be taking on the role of the writer. As for the cast members, the roles played by Kate Mara and Paul Rudd are yet to be revealed, but, it seems that more additions to the cast of ‘Friendship’ besides the existing ones have been made.
Additional Details on ‘Friendship’
The protagonist of ‘Friendship’ is supposedly named Craig Waterman while the neighbor has his name as Brian and from the plot, it is evident that the film will be experimenting with a new perspective to the “Bad Neighbors” trope. Andrew DeYoung recently directed ‘Our Flag Means Death’ a pirate based action and adventure comedy. The series along with the other works of the artists appear to be comedies indicating that the upcoming feature film could also belong to the genre. Unfortunately, official updates are yet to be made on the matter.
Kate Mara who is a known actress recently starred in ‘Class of 0’9’ in the role of Ashley Poet. Her other recent on-screen appearances include ‘Call Jane’ which premiered in 2022 and ‘Ghostwriter’ for which she took on a vocal portrayal. Paul Rudd’s popular roles include Scott Lang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mike in ‘Friends’ a sitcom, Josh in ‘Clueless’ and Mr. Anderson in ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, to name a few. It is highly likely that Paul Rudd will be taking on a lead role in the upcoming feature film. Other supposed cast additions to the upcoming project are actors Tim Robinson, Meredith Garretson and Teren Carter.
