‘Saga of Tanya the Evil’ or Youjo Senki in Japanese was officially greenlit for a second season back in June 2021. The renewal announcement came out on Abema TV during a special event. The series revolves around an unnamed Japanese salaryman who doesn’t believe in God and the afterlife. The entity then transfers the salaryman to another world where he has been reincarnated as a young girl named Tanya.
The anime series is adapted from a very popular light novel series titled ‘Youjo Senki’ which is penned by Carlo Zen and illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. Saga of Tanya is a wonderful isekai animated series with endless wars and twisted storylines and it’s no surprise that fans are hooked after watching the first season and have been earnestly awaiting the second season. Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Release Date: When is it?
The first season of Saga of Tanya the Evil concluded on March 31, 2017, and it’s been five years since the debut season was launched. On February 18, 2019, a movie titled ‘Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie’ was released and till now fans have been patiently waiting for the release of the second season. In June 2019, along with the renewal status, Kadokawa unveiled a promo video formally declaring that production has begun for season 2. However, fans need to wait a little longer to see the new episodes.
Nonetheless, the earliest we can expect a release date is sometime in 2023.

The light novel series has 12 volumes so far. It’s not known when the 13th volume will be out. The author did reveal in March 2021 that he was busy working on the 13th volume so it’s about time till we finally get to read it.
The first season covers up to volume 3 of the light novel series. ‘Saga of Tanya the Evil: The Movie’ was based on volume 4. So currently there are 7 volumes of source materials left to be adapted into anime series which means it’s enough to cover for season 2 or more seasons.
