The first two movie series of Now You See Me received mixed reactions from critics but at the same time, it was well appreciated by the audiences for its outstanding performance. The movie was a huge box office success and had grossed a whopping $700 million globally. No wonder fans are desperate and worried about what the future holds for the next movie Now You See Me Season 3 but the good news is, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has already confirmed the next instalment of the movie.

However, production is expected take longer than the usual time as Covid-19 have disrupted not only the whole film industry but also the production schedules and are very likely to experience impediments along the way but worry not, the future of the film is hundred percent guaranteed. Now You See Me is an magic cum heist thriller TV series that debuted on May 31, 2013. Written by Ed Solomon, Boaz Yakin, and Edward Ricourt, the series recorded a worldwide collection of $686,625,326. The series stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Michael Caine, Lizzy Caplan, and Morgan Freeman  in the lead star cast!

When is the release date? 

The official release date of Now You See Me 3 is yet to be announced. However, our best assumption is that the upcoming movie will arrive somewhere at the end of 2022 or sometime in 2023. Currently, Now You See Me 3 is in the production process but the filming will probably be wrapped up by this year. 

Now You See Me 3 cast: Who’s in it?

It has been previously confirmed that Lizzy Caplan and Mark Ruffalo were said to be reprising their respective roles as Lula May and Dylan Rhodes Shrike in the upcoming movie.

The other cast members expected to return are Morgan Freeman (as Thaddeus Bradley),  Dave Franco (as Jack Wilder), Michael Caine (as Arthur Tressler) and Woody Harrelson (as Merritt McKinney).

There’s also speculation about Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch who has joined the cast. His role in NYSM3 would be seen as a villain or a police officer in the upcoming movie. However, it’s unclear if Cumberbatch will be in the upcoming due to his commitments with the Marvel franchise. The filmmakers are yet to comment on this and as of now, nothing is confirmed but we except to see new faces in the forthcoming movie.

Will the Four Horsemen be back in Now You See Me 3?

There has been no official announcement regarding the return of the Four Horsemen in ‘Now You See Me 3’. However, according to a report by The Cinemaholic, it has been suggested that the Four Horsemen will reunite in the movie, with Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson reprising their roles as J. Daniel Atlas and Merritt McKinney, respectively.

Now You See Me 3 will be quite different from the previous two movies. The storyline is going to be much more interesting and creative. However, the filmmakers have not given us any details to avoid speculations from the fans. 

It was also reported that Lionsgate hired a new scripter for the next movie and it’s none other than Eric Warren Singer who will be writing the script for Now You See Me 3. Eric was also nominated for Oscars for his works on American Hustle. “Eric has always been fascinated with the fine art of deception and illusion in all of its forms and he came to us with a great story that takes the mythology of Now You See Me and pushes The Four Horsemen to a whole new level with our key returning cast and new characters,” President of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, Nathan Kahane stated.

Kahane further added, “The Now You See Me franchise has been built on keeping the audience surprised and guessing. Any great magician knows you can’t keep doing the same tricks. And Eric and his team of illusionists have something special up their sleeve for this new film.”

Now You See Me 3’s Future is Uncertain

Now You See Me 3 was originally set for a 2018 release. However, things just didn’t work out the way it was meant to be. Both the writers and director exited the project before any work had begun. Variety announced, “a new writer, Eric Warren Singer, was coming aboard”. 

This means it’s possible we may see a slightly different version of the Four Horsemen. Of course, how things were originally planned will not be executed. But again, plans stalled with the coronavirus pandemic. Thus, putting a halt on many film projects.

Prior to the delays, per Screen Rant, it was rumored, “Benedict Cumberbatch was slotted to play a villainous magician in Now You See Me 3, but with his Marvel commitments as Dr. Strange, this looks to have fizzled out.”

“Having the original cast from the first two films return would be amazing, but with the busy schedules of such big names, it’s unclear if they would all be able to. The cast is currently up in the air in terms of who could appear. Lionsgate could also be choosing to go in another direction and bring on a mostly-new cast”.
