Inspired by Marco Polo’s early years in the court of Kublai Khan, Marco Polo is an American historical drama that debuted on Netflix on December 12, 2014.
The series’ storyline depicts the historical significance of the Khagan of the Mongol Empire and the founder of the Yuan.
It stars Lorenzo Richelmy, Benedict Wong, Joan Chen, Rick Yune, Amr Waked, Remy Hii, Zhu Zhu, Tom Wu, Mahesh Jadu, Olivia Cheng, Uli Latukefu, and Chin Han as the star cast of the series.
The first season received an average response among the audience and critics. So makers decided to renew the series for the second installment on January 7, 2015; Netflix renewed Marco Polo for a 10-episode second season, which premiered on July 1, 2016.

Marco Polo Season 3 Release date
There’s bad news for all the lovers of Marco Polo fans. Weinstein Company TV has already announced the cancellation of its third season.
The Hollywood Reporter estimated Netflix lost $200 million from the first two seasons. Netflix and Weinstein Company TV have officially released a statement to discontinue the series after the second season.
Precisely speaking, in December 12, 2016, Netflix announced they canceled Marco Polo after two seasons. Let’s hope for the best…
