Psychological thrillers have a way to cudgel the brain and get right into the heart and “Let the Right One In” did just that. But will there be a season 2 of the series?

Let the Right One in is a psychological thriller and supernatural drama TV series. It aired on the Showtime Cable Channel. Inspired by the Swedish novel of the same name, the series stars a phenomenal star cast. It includes Demián Bichir, Anika Noni Rose, Madison Taylor Baez, Grace Gummer, Ian Foreman, Jacob Buster, Nick Stahl, and Kevin Carroll.

As for the plot, it revolves around Mark Kane and his daughter Eleanor. Talk about supernatural stuff and the introduction of vampires is a must! And well, audiences are absolutely insane about anything “vampires” (wish they were real though!) Okay, so what happens is Eleanor turns into a vampire 10 years ago and their lives take a massive toll. Locked in at the tender age of 12 (forever), she lives a closed-off life. Only allowed to go out at night, Eleanor becomes desperate. Her father, Mark does everything to provide her with human blood so she could stay alive.

However, it gets impossible trying to bring in human blood all the time. Now, determined to find a cure and treat her, the father and daughter return home to New York City. Will they be able to find a cure? Will Eleanor continue a normal life? Will she die? What happens, when they find the cure? The second season will uncover all these unanswered questions. But will there be a season 2 of Let the Right One In? That’s exactly what we’re gonna be talking about in this post. Read the article til’ the end!

Will there be a season 2 of Let the Right One In?

As of January 2023, the makers are yet to renew Let the Right One in for season 2. Yes, we are still awaiting an official renewal announcement for the second season of the series. But we are hopeful that the series will receive the greenlight.

In a separate interview with Syfy Wire the same month, the showrunner even mentioned that he was already “in [the] writers’ room for Season 2.@ So, while there’s no official confirmation, a renewal seems likely! Fans are really looking forward to another season though.

#LetTheRightOneIn by @Showtime is just a super fantastic vampire story adaptation!!! I was initially skeptic how they will make a tv show out of this but #SHOWTIME has pulled it off brilliantly!!! Vampires are scary again!!! 👍🏼 Looking forward to season 2 @Showtime pic.twitter.com/lojUYNEpjH

Who’s going to be featured in the cast?

For Let the Right One in season 2 cast, we expect all the characters to reprise their roles. Here’s who may be featured:

  • Anika Noni Rose (Naomi Cole),
  • Grace Gummer (Dr. Claire Logan),
  • Kevin Carroll (Zeke Dawes),
  • Ian Foreman (Isaiah Cole),
  • Jacob Buster (Peter/Boy), and
  • Nick Stahl (Matthew).

Speaking to Gold Derby in an interview published on Nov. 30, Hinderaker specifically shouted out the “remarkable” child actors, Baez and Foreman. “At 12 years old, it is a challenge because we shoot the show largely on location. A lot of nights, a lot of exterior, a lot of winter,” he shared.

“To accomplish that and then to pull it off is entirely a tribute to them. And then they’re so good, you know? It’s really their relationship that is so central to the series and is really the heart of the source material and it’s imperative to honor that. I just can’t say enough about Madison and Ian. They’re both wonderful.”

When is the release date?

Because there hasn’t been an official renewal confirmation yet, we cannot anticipate the release date. However, we expect it to air by the end of 2023 or later.

Where to watch Let the Right One In?

You may watch the series on Showtime.

Is Let the Right One in season 3 happening?

As of now, there are no updates about Let the Right One In season 3!
