Hacks season three will debut on Max in the first half of 2024, HBO confirmed on November 2 during a press conference held by HBO CEO Casey Bloys. Returning favourites like Tokyo Vice, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and Curb Your Enthusiasm will be joining the lineup.

Will Hacks Season 3 be renewed?
The popular series Hack was renewed in June 2022, and filming has already begun. It still needs to be finished before it returns, though, as filming was not finished before the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Ava, a struggling comedy writer, was the focus of Season 1’s story. She was hired as the writer’s assistant to Deborah Vance, an ageing, glass-ceiling-shattering, trailblazing female comedian (inspired by Joan Rivers) who had lost contact with younger audiences. Together, with the help of their typical agency, Ava and Deborah have to develop a stand-up show that appeals to both millennials and baby boomers.
The two don’t agree on nearly everything, including feminism, fashion, and the idea that comedy should cancel culture. Eventually, they learn to understand one another as women and comedians and begin a cross-country tour of new material. But not before Ava, temporarily enraged, sends a nasty, reveal-all email to two producers interested in developing a show about a diva-type comedian not so subtly influenced by Deborah.
What can we expect from the storyline of Hacks season 3?
The 2021 film Hacks tells the tale of ageing comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), who is encouraged to appeal to a younger audience to maintain her Las Vegas residency. Hannah Einbinder’s character, Ava Daniels, a young writer sacked for a poorly timed tweet, unexpectedly finds support. The pair bonds despite their early disagreements as they work through the difficulties of the entertainment business.
The third season of Hacks is expected to delve into Deborah’s recent achievements, Ava’s professional development, and Jimmy’s endeavour to launch his talent agency with Kayla’s help. Before Deborah and Ava finally get back together, the plot will explore several facets of Hollywood society.
