Disney’s Gravity Falls is an American adventure comedy-mystery fantasy drama animated TV series conceived by Alex Hirsch that is being broadcast on Disney Channel and Disney XD which first premiered on June 15, 2012.
The story revolves around the explorations of Dipper Pines (VA Jason Ritter) and his twin sibling Mabel (VA Kristen Schaal) who are dispatched to spend the summer holidays with their uncle Stan (VA Hirsch) in Gravity Falls, Oregon an unusual town filled with supernatural occurrences and mystical creatures. The children assist Stan to operate The Mystery Shack, the visitor trap that he acquires, while also examining the town mysteries.
The series has so far produced two seasons in total and managed to score 100 percent on Rotten Tomatoes for both first and second seasons and attained a standard critic score of 7.4/10 based on 12 voters. Despite its popularity and good ratings, it looks like the series has ended for good.

Needless to say, it’s been six years since the viewers last saw it aired on the screens and they can’t help but wonder if the series will ever return with another season. Let’s find out whether or not Disney will bring back the series for a third season.
Gravity Falls Season 3 Release Date: When is it?
The first season of Gravity Falls was released from June 15, 2012, to August 2, 2013, comprising a total of twenty episodes while the second season was launched from August 1, 2014, to February 15, 2016, consisting of a total of twenty episodes as well.
Currently, there hasn’t been a single word from the showrunners regarding the third season of Gravity Falls. Considering the last release, it has been many years and by now we would have gotten some sort of an update or announcement but still nothing yet. At this point, the future of the show remains very doubtful and makes us question if the second season was indeed the final one.
Furthermore on the official Wikipedia page of Gravity Falls, if you check the release section it clearly mentions the first episode release and the last episode release date (June 15, 2012, to February 15, 2016) indicating that the show has concluded.
As per rumors, it was reported that series creator Alex Hirsch is busy developing a spin-off episode of Gravity Falls but this is yet to be confirmed. Although the series has ended, it’s exciting to learn that the show is getting a spin-off episode. But before we make our own assumptions, it’s best to wait for an official announcement.
