A Million Miles Away is directed by Alejandra Marquez Abella. The story is based on a motivating story of Jose Hernandez. He defied inevitable odds to become the first and foremost migrant farmworker who travelled to space. Alejandra loitered around in the fields between Michoacán and Stockton, California when he was six years old. He, however, always dreamt of travelling on a rocket ship exploring the night skies.
Combating innumerable tasks with unrelenting determination, Jose’s story is about perseverance, sacrifice, and patience. He encountered 11 rejections from NASA. Working in NASA was something he had always dreamt of. However, through his determination and family’s support, he was able to accomplish an impossible dream. The plot of A Million Miles Away revolves around Jose’s story from a child to a grown up!

The film A Million Miles Away is being produced by Select Films’ Campbell McInnes and Mark Ciardi. It is executive produced by Kyle Convissar and Benito Martinez. The filming has already begun in Mexico City.
Adaptation of an American engineer and astronaut Jose Moreno Hernandez, this stimulating story revolves around Jose’s journey as a young lad who achieves his near to impossible dream. He’s hardworking and accepts challenges with utmost courage and perseverance.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director “spearheaded Mexico’s Ya Es Hora movement,” to condemn gender violence, comparable to the U.S’s #MeToo movement.

Prime Video recently announced that the film’s cast is stacking up. Stars like Rosa Salazar, Peña’s Narcos co-stars Bobby Soto and Julio Cesar Cedillo, Veronica Falcón, Sarayu Blue and Eric Johnson boarded the project. Additionally, Jordan Dean, Ashley Ciarra, Michelle Krusiec, Emma Fassler, Michael Adler, Carols Sanchez and Isaac Arellanes are also gonna be featured in the star cast.

Garret Dillahunt is a Critics’ Choice Award nominee. He’s currently reported to star in the upcoming astronaut documentary A Million Miles Away. He also exec produces and has starred in Amazon Freevee comedy series Sprung. It was created by Greg Garcia.
Dillahunt was recently seen in Sony’s film Where the Crawdads Sing. It is based on Delia Owens’ same-name novel. The film will recur in the third season of Starz’s crime drama series Hightown. He’s also appearing in Andrew Dominik’s fictionalized Marilyn Monroe film Blonde for Netflix.
Other notable credits for the actor include Army of the Dead, Fear the Walking Dead, 12 Years a Slave and No Country for Old Men.
Michael Peña
Known for his impeccable performance in Netflix’s Narcos: Mexico, Peña is all set to star in A Million Miles Away. The actor has served in major films and series. These include David O. Russell’s American Hustle, Oscar-winning Crash, and 12 Strong with the one and only Chris Hemsworth.
