Deadly illusions are said to return with season 2. The film made to No.1 spot on Netflix’s top 10 list. The dramatic American thriller intrigued the viewers with its gripping storyline. The film is written and directed by Anna Elizabeth James. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the new release. Here is everything about the new launch.
Deadly Illusions 2: Release Date
The deadly Illusns 1 released on March 18, 2021. The story appealed to the fans. Fans could not get enough of the dramatic series. Currently, it is doing very well on the streaming service. Expectations are that the deadly Illusions 2 would be released in 2022 or 2023. However, no official news has been yet given out regarding the release of season 2. Deadly Illusions season 1 filming was finished in 2019, but due to the pandemic situation, the release was postponed to 2021. Seeing the timeline expectations are that if there be a possibility of season 2, then it would be released by 2023.
Deadly Illusions 2: Plot
Deadly Illusions 2 follows the storyline of Mary Morrison, a successful author of thriller novels. She is happily married to her husband Tom with two young children. Her publisher asks her to pen down another book and offers her a two million dollar advance. She initially declines but later accepts it on the persuasion of Tom. Her husband loses half of their estate to gambling and now needs money to recover it. Mary’s friend Elaine suggests that she hires a nanny for her kids so that she can write in peace. After interviewing several people, Mary employs Grace. But Mary is blank n the write-up and uses her friendship with Grace to inspire her. Mary gets attracted towards Grace and also dreams of Grace and her husband together in a relation. She confronts both during dinner, which upsets her children. The following day she apologizes to Grace and contacts the nanny agency to ask why they haven’t checked her yet. They inform her that she has not gotten back to them regarding the decision to hire a nanny. Marky inquires whether they have a nanny named Grace to which they deny. Mary goes to Elaine only to find her stabbed to death. She contacts the cops but ends up being the main suspect in Elaine’s murder. There is much evidence against her one which includes a video of Mary arriving at Elaine’s house. She then visits Grace’s hometown and learns from her aunt about Grace’s abused childhood. Mary calls Tom to warn him about Grace, but he does not answer. Tom is in the shower, and Grace enters with a large knife changing between her sweet and soft-toned voice to a violent seducer. As Grace is about to attack Tom, Mary arrives home. Grace is confronted but replies that she has no clue about the happenings. It is, later on, discovered that Grace suffers from dissociative identity disorder and her other identity attacked Tom. Mary overpowers Grace and knocks her unconscious. A year later, Mary has finished her book and leaves it on Elaine’s grave. She visits Grace in the mental hospital and leaves the hospital in a headscarf and sunglasses, as seen in a police video. The plot for season 2 is unknown, but expectations are that it would showcase what happens next to Grace and Mary.

The cast from season 1 is set to make a comeback. This means that Kristin Davis would be essaying Mary Morrison’s role, Dermot Mulroney as Tom, Greer Grammer as Grace, Shanola Hampton as Elaine. The other cast would include Marie Wagenman, Shylo Molina, Melissa Chambers, Shaun Wu, Abella Bala.

It’s not clear if Deadly Illisions will return with a sequel but based on how the first movie ended it does need a continuation since many viewers were disappointed and felt like the ending had no closure and did not justify the entirety of the film.
