‘Dreamland’, an upcoming series that will potentially stream on Peacock is set in 1915 and will follow the world of the “Black Wall Street”. Being taken up under Kapital Entertainment, the series is currently under development and will possibly commence its filming soon. Kapital Entertainment is a known production company that develops both film and digital content. The are currently working on a number of shows and films including, ‘Delhi Crime’ which premiered its first season in 2019, ‘The Neighborhood’ a sitcom starring Max Greenfield, Cedric the Entertainer, Beth Behrs and more, ‘A Million Little Things’ which is created by DJ Nash, and more. For the upcoming project, Kapital Entertainment will be collaborating with Universal Television. Universal Television is another known television production company and their works include, ‘Timeless’ which premiered its first season in 2016 and ‘Good Girls’ which ran for 4 seasons, to name a few.
Eric Haywood will be composing the screenplay for ‘Dreamland’ whist also serving as a co- producer of the series. Eric Haywood is a known writer whose works include, ‘Four of Hearts’ which premiered in 2013 and is a romance drama, ‘Manifest’ which premiered its final season this year, and more. Joing Eric Haywood as the producers for ‘Dreamland’ are, Aaron Kaplan and Brian Morewitz. Aaron Kaplan is the Founder and CEO of Kapital Entertainment and is an established producer. Brian Morewitz is a member of ABC Entertainment and is a known producer.
Adrienne Warren to Join the Cast for ‘Dreamland’
Narrating the events that took place in Greenwood, Oklahoma, ‘Dreamland’ will potentially feature Adrienne Warren in a primary role. Adrienne Warren is popular both as an actress and a singer and her works include, ‘Women of the Movement’ which is a Kapital Entertainment production, ‘Black Cake’ which premiered in 2023 and ‘Tina’ which is a documentary on the known singer, Tina Turner, to name a few. She is also a recipient of numerous accolades including the Outer Critics Circle Award.
With a progressing crew and cast, Dreamland will take its audiences to the legendary African-American business district in Tulsa, Oklahoma’s Greenwood community. The series takes place before the occurrence of the deadly Race Massacre in 1921. The series will instead, explore the individualistic aspects of the community focusing on the daily lives, interpersonal relationships, and class struggles of Greenwood’s residents, all the while showcasing how the shadow of an oil boom resulted in long standing tensions between the city’s white, African-American, and displaced Native American populations.
