An official trailer was also released to commemorate the revelation. It was also announced that Yuichiro Umehara will be replacing Tatsuhisa Suzuki as the voice of the main protagonist, Anos Voldigoad.

Though the show has been renewed, we do not have an official release date yet. The sequel of the series was first greenlit in March 2021. Further, it was announced in split courses. However, if we were to anticipate the release date, we expect season 2 to air by 2023. Because the show has already been greenlit, 2023 seems likely.

The plot:
The plot for the anime series is based on The Misfit of Demon King Academy light novel. By creator Shu and illustrator Yoshinori Shizuma.
Usually shortened to just Maou Gakuin, the full title is Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha ~Shijou Saikyou no Maou no Shiso, Tensei shite Shison-tachi no Gakkou e Kayou~. It is officially translated to The Misfit of Demon King Academy: History’s Strongest Demon King Reincarnates and Goes to School with His Descendants.
The turnaround time on the anime was relatively quick. Japanese publisher ASCII Media Works began publishing the light novel adaptation in March 2018.
The light novel volumes are based on the “Chapters” of the web novel series. It was already up to the epilogue of Chapter 14 as of March 2022. Light novel Volume 12 has begun adapting Chapter 12: Calamity World, which means the light novels have almost caught up with the web novel.
The web novel has not ended yet despite having over 670 actual chapters. The author is expected to start releasing the web novel Arc 15 soon.

The first three volumes of The Misfit of Demon King Academy have been covered by the anime adaptation thus far, and volume 4 picks up where the anime leaves off in the previous season. Therefore, if you can’t wait for the release of the second season, you can start reading volume 4 right away.

Because it was billed as a split cour, it will contain 6 volumes as opposed to 3 like the first season. That means there should be two seasons, which means there will probably be six volumes instead of three.
