Brutal Legend is an action/adventure game developed by Double Fine and published by EA for PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360. Just a month ago, developer Double Fine released a new game Psychonauts 2 and fans can’t help but wonder what the studio will work on the next game. Could it be that the studio might work on Brutal Legend 2? Let’s find out.

Over the years, fans have been earnestly requesting the release of the sequel to Brutal Legend, which was first launched in 2009 that featured Hollywood actor Jack Black. In response to the fans continuous requests, the director Tim Schafer has dropped hints about the probability of glimpsing Brutal Legend 2 in the future.

During an interview, Tim Schafer was asked if the studio might work on Brutal Legend 2 now that they’ve finished on Psychonauts 2.  On being asked this question, Schafer didn’t deny this idea although he explained that it would be an extremely difficult project to develop for several other reasons. “That’s a tricky one. I feel some emotional barriers towards that because I really like the multiplayer aspect and people were so crabby about the RTS elements,” Schafer said of the idea. “I’m like wow, which game do we make? Do we make the game that I want to make or do we make the one the fans are asking for? It’s tricky to solve that problem.”

While he didn’t deny the idea of releasing a sequel, it seemed more like Schafer had his heart set to work on different projects rather than on the much-awaited sequel. He said, “My goal is to just play Brutal Legend every Rocktober 13th until the world learns how great the game is.” 

News & Speculations

Fans of the game who have been waiting for many years won’t likely see the return of Brutal Legend 2. As per reports, Double Fine has confirmed that Brutal Legend 2 won’t be coming anytime soon as the sequel won’t be happening. This news was accidentally slipped out by one of the members working for Double Fine while they were talking about future projects. What do you think? Well, the fact that director Schafer showed no interest in working for the sequel indicates that this could be very much true as he seemed more interested in working on new projects rather than on the sequel. 

It was also reported that EA passed on Brutal Legend 2 implying that the original game didn’t do well in terms of sales despite the hype and even involving actor Jack Black. It’s quite understandable why Double Fine decided not to work on the sequel as the studio is currently working on new projects. Brutal Legend Season 2 Expected Storyline

Brutal Legend 2 might follow roadie Eddie Riggs into a metal and magic realm. Eddie united humans and demons to conquer Lord Doviculus in the first game. Eddie may confront an alien invasion or a new demon lord in Brutal Legend 2. He may also assist in reconstructing the world after the first game.

 

Here are some narrative ideas that Brutal Legend season 2 may comprise: 

 

• Eddie could return to metal to defend it from an alien invasion.
• An emerging demon ruler could destabilize the metal world.
• Eddie may help reconstruct the world after the first game.
• Eddie could find a new power source and defend metal from evil.
• Eddie could journey to another globe to defeat a new enemy.
• No matter the plot, Brutal Legend 2 will be a wild trip packed of metal, magic, and humor.

 

A more innovative plot idea speculated by us could include:

 

• Eddie Riggs becomes a metal icon after the first game. Fans revere him, while adversaries dread him. However, Eddie is not happy to relax. He constantly seeks new challenges and methods to prove himself.
• Eddie meets a fascinating stranger. A stranger warns Eddie that metal faces a new threat. A powerful extradimensional demon king plans to invade and conquer. Stranger requests Eddie for help against the demon lord.
• Eddie helps and embarks on a new journey. He will gain allies, opponents, and powers along the journey. Eddie must use all his strength and talents to battle the demon ruler and save the metal planet again.

Brutal Lengend 2 Won’t be Coming 

Yes, you read that right! It’s a bummer that Brutal Legend 2 is not happening despite many fans waiting for the game to make a comeback with its sequel.

As of May 2022, Brutal Legend 2 stands canceled we say this with conviction because EA rejected the sequel as the previous game didn’t do well.

An employee who worked for the game “Double Fine” while they were developing the aforementioned game revealed that Schafer has moved on to working on new projects and thus, Brutal Legend is not happening but you can always look forward to similar games like the Brutal Legend.

Reports have also claimed that fans won’t ever get to see the return of Brutal Legend 2 as it’s been canceled. So, there you have it.
