The Magicians Season 6 has been canceled, and here’s why:
Since Syfy’s parent company, NBC Universal, launched its streaming service in December 2020, several Syfy shows might be available on the platform.
“It unfolded somewhat as it has in nearly every season,” co-creator John McNamara stated to TVInsider in 2020.
“We never knew if we would be taken up, except season four into season five. There was always a conversation about the finances rather than the artistic aspects, and with any program, you always know that there’s a thin line between revenue and expenses.
“And as the creators of the show, we understand that,” co-creator Sera Gamble stated. Going into this season, we felt that Syfy, as our initial platform, was approaching the idea that “there is no more room in the cup.”
McNamara continued: “It’s not going to expand in terms of revenue necessarily, it’s not necessarily going to contract in terms of revenue, but it is going to cost more.”
Regarding The Magicians Season 6, the fifth episode on the network ran on SYFY from December 16, 2015, to April 1, 2020. SYFY discontinued the show after five seasons.
The Magicians Season Six Plot: What can we expect?
After the protagonist of Jason Ralph’s show died in season four, the program had to take a completely different turn.
Executive producer Sera Gamble talked about how Quentin’s passing will affect The Magicians going forward in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter: “Quentin’s tale isn’t finished on The Magicians. Quentin Coldwater has died on the program, and Jason Ralph is no longer a series regular. The plot then revolves around what happens after that.
“Jason has left the show, and Quentin is dead, and a lot of season five is about what happens next, just as when somebody dies in our lives, the next season of our life is about what happens.”
Because the series has been canceled, there won’t be a plot continuation for season 6. Do watch out for more updates!

The first season of The Magicians ran from December 16, 2015, to April 11, 2016. The television show’s second season ran from January 25, 2017, to April 19, 2017. Likewise, the third season of The Magicians aired from January 10, 2018, to April 4, 2018, while the fourth season ran from January 23, 2019, to April 17, 2019.
The fifth season of the Magicians series was from January 15, 2020, until April 1, 2020.
