On January 12, 2022, it was reported by the makers that there would be an extension of the existing film series, Rio. In addition, the makers confirmed that Jim Hecht will be writing the screenplay. It will premiere on Disney.
Rio 3 Release Date
The first sequel of Rio was released on March 22, 2011, while the second part aired on April 11, 2014. Both the films were equally loved and appreciated by the fans and critics. Keeping the popularity of the Rio from its fifth two chapters in mind, on January 12th 2022, Walt Disney Studios renewed the film series for its third chapter. He stated in an interview: “I want to make a third Rio film. I suppose this earth has more stories to tell. The studio decides whether to make it.”
