Noragami Season 3: Release Date, Cast & Plot
Directed by Kotaro Tamura, Noragami is an anime adaptation of a manga of the same name. It first premiered in 2014 and attracted immense attention from anime fans the world over. The series was renewed for another season that aired in 2015. Since the finale episode dropped in December 2015, fans are waiting to see more of their favorite series. But sadly, there is no official announcement about its third part so far. So, would Noragami Season 3 be going to happen or the show is on an infinite hiatus? To know more, read on.
When would Noragami Season 3 be out?
We have no official release date yet given that Studio Bones has not revealed its intentions about making a third chapter of the series. So, it is fair to assume that fans have to wait a bit longer before anything gets confirmed by either the production house or the series’ distributors. For those who cannot wait for the third part, you can always rely on the manga to know what follows after the developments in Season second.
Given the immense popularity of the series, a third season is on the cards and it’s speculated that the new season is set to launch by the end of 2022 although studio BONES is yet to comment on this.
Does the manga have enough source materials for season 3?
Fortunately, yes! The manga series currently has 23 volumes in total. Seasons 1 and 2 of the anime series only covered up to 10 volumes of the manga series leaving plenty of source materials to create a third season but it solely depends on the makers or the studio whether or not they would want to return with a new season although fans are dying for the series to have a glimpse of the third season.
What would be the plot of Noragami Season 3?
Noragami’s previous seasons have covered 10 volumes of the manga. However, the manga consists of a total of 23 volumes. It was said earlier that the delay behind the release of Season three was a lack of content material. But currently, there is an adequate supply of material that can go in the third season.
There are speculations that the next season will explore the father and son relationship. It was disclosed in the last part that the man who kissed Hiyori was Yato’s father. So, possibly we could witness this new character in a more versatile and supporting role in the next chapter. In addition to this, the plot is expected to portray the dark secrets of Yato’s past that are going to add more adventures and drama to Yato, Hiyori, and Yukine’s journey as a family unit. With all that said, season 3 is going to be a package of surprises for the fans.
Who would be in the cast of Noragami Season 3?
It is a safe bet to say that most, if not all, of the voice cast of Season two will make a comeback to its third part. With Hiroshi Kamiya voicing Yato, the minor deity with no place or money to live. Yato’s journey is not complete without Hiyori, the schoolgirl who can travel to parallel worlds following a tragic event, and Yukine, the lost spirit who helps the God of Calamity become the God of Destiny. Maaya Uchida and Yuki Kaji will play out the voices of Hiyori and Yukine respectively. We are assuming that new characters would appear to add a twist to the story ahead. Although nothing is known about the additions to the voice cast so far but the same voice cast will likely reprise their roles in the third season as well.
