My Brilliant Friend is developed to adapt the whole literary work over four seasons with eight episodes each. The series is co-produced between Italian production companies such as Fandango, Wildside, The Apartment, Mowe, and International Film Groups like Umedia and Fremantle. It stars Gaia Girace, Margherita Mazzucco and many more and is narrated by Alba Rohrwacher.

The series has produced a total of three seasons. The latest season, which is the third, was released on February 6, 2022.

The first season was released on November 18, 2018, comprising of eight episodes. The second season premiered on February 10, 2020, consisting of eight episodes. The third season was launched on February 6, 2022 with a total of eight episodes. So overall it has 24 episodes.

As of now, it’s not known when the fourth season will be released. It’s too soon to determine since the third season just finished airing. It might take some time till we hear an official update from the showrunners.

But we do know that a fourth season is happening, the most feasible release date for the next instalment could fall sometime in 2023 taking into consideration the production and filming for the next season.

The drama series MY BRILLIANT FRIEND has been picked up by HBO and Rai for a fourth and final season. Yes, the fourth edition will be the last; that much is certain. Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of HBO Programming, and Maria Pia Ammirati, head of drama for Rai, made the announcement today.

A production of The Apartment, Fremantle Italy, Wildside, and Fandango with Lorenzo Mieli producing for Fremantle Italy, The Apartment and Wildside (both Fremantle companies), and Domenico Procacci producing for Fandango, in collaboration with Rai Fiction and HBO Entertainment, Season 4 will be based on “The Story Of The Lost Child,” Ferrante’s fourth book in the series.
