Another series on the life of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali is reportedly under production and is supposedly commencing its production in January next year. Titled as, ‘The Greatest’ this upcoming series is different from Revelations Entertainment’s ‘Excellence: 8 Fights’ as it will focus on the icon’s life from childhood all the way to becoming a sports legend. The development of this new production is being taken up under Outlier Society Productions which is founded by Michael B. Jordan alongside Grace- A Storytelling Company, Amazon MGM Studios and ROC Nation. Some of the popular production under Outlier Society include, ‘Creed 3’ which premiered in 2023, ‘Without Remorse’ an action thriller, ‘Fahrenheit 451’ which is a book adaptation and ‘A Journal for Jordan’ a war themed romance, all of which stars Michael B. Jordan.
Michael B. Jordan and Jay-Z will be heading the production for ‘The Greatest’ which will be directed by Josh Wakely. Michael B. Jordan is a popular actor and a recipient of numerous accolades. Some of his notable roles include, Erik Killmonger in the ‘Black Panther’ film series, Adonis Johnson in ‘Creed’ film series and Bryan Stevenson in ‘Just Mercy’. Jay-Z is a popular rapper and another recipient of numerous accolades. His works include, ‘Empire State of Mind’ which was released in 2009 and ‘On to the Next One’ which was released in 2009. Josh Wakely is a known director whose works include, ‘Motown Magic’ which ran for two seasons, ‘Beat Bugs’ which ran for 3 seasons, ‘Scorched’ which premiered in 2008 and more. Additionally, he is also known as a screenwriter. The upcoming series will potentially air on Prime Video.

‘The Greatest’ will showcase snippets from Muhammad Ali’s life as a kid growing up in the South (Kentucky), facing racial bigotry and discrimination to being molded as one of the icons of Boxing history.
Ali fought not just for a living, but also for a much deserved respect and rewards far more precious than money or glory. His skills led to him being named as the Sportsman of the Century by Sports Illustrated and the BBC. Ali did not just give a new definition to being an athlete by giving hope to millions around the world but also inspired people to stand against injustices levied on the common people and fight for what is important to one. The upcoming series pays a homage to the multifaceted portrait of Muhammad Ali as a sports legend, unapologetic anti-war advocate, stylistic fighter, lover, poet, and provocateur, and an irresistible force.
