Los Angeles, March 11, 2025 — Media personality Melanie King has ignited a firestorm of controversy with a provocative post on X, directly accusing actress Blake Lively of racism in a scathing critique tied to Lively’s ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. In her post, King shared a black-and-white image juxtaposing historical figures with the caption, “The black guy looked at me!”—a phrase interpreted as a biting reference to the infamous 1955 Emmett Till case, where a Black teenager was lynched after being falsely accused of offending a white woman.
King’s post alleges that Lively, whom she dubs “Plantation Khaleesi,” attempted to “Emmitt Till a Black man” by accusing Justin Baldoni’s business partner, Jamey Heath, of inappropriate behavior, including staring at her while breastfeeding and showing her pornographic material. King further claims that Lively’s accusations stem from racial bias, pointing to Heath’s wife’s home birth photos being misconstrued as explicit content. The post, which has since gone viral, paints Lively as perpetuating racist stereotypes, drawing sharp parallels to historical racial injustices.
This isn’t the first time Lively has faced scrutiny over racial sensitivity. Earlier this year, resurfaced clips of Lively admitting to wearing blackface sparked widespread backlash, adding fuel to King’s accusations. King’s post appears to be an independent commentary, unconnected to broader discussions or other social media users, positioning her as the sole voice driving the narrative.
Lively’s legal troubles with Baldoni and Heath stem from a California Civil Rights Department complaint filed in January 2025, where she alleged a hostile work environment and sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. Baldoni and Heath have denied the claims, accusing Lively of launching a smear campaign against them. King’s intervention, however, shifts the focus to race, amplifying the controversy with her inflammatory rhetoric.
As of now, neither Lively nor her representatives have responded to King’s accusations, but the post has already sparked heated debate online, further polarizing public opinion about the actress’s actions and legacy.
