Season 2 of the series was likely to be released in 2020 but was postponed due to the global pandemic situation. Expectations are that the series would now premiere by the end of 2022 or early 2023 at the earliest. However, no official information has been given regarding the release of season 2.

The Plot
The famous anime series death race follows a game developer who is summoned into the game he was coding. The summon is different from the ones in which the protagonist is transported. The plot follows the adventures of the game developer inside the game. Death march to the parallel world rhapsody is a web novel on a user-generated site first published by Hiro Ainana in 2013. Later on, it was republished as a light novel. Fujimi Shobo released the first volume of the novel in 2014 and a manga adaptation. To date, several volumes of the manga have been released. Yen Press has licensed the novels and manga adaptations. The series covers the story of light novels.
The show offers a fantasy harem, action, and thrill. The name saw the adaptation of three volumes out of the twenty, This leaves much scope for the release of two more seasons. Season 2 of the manga is likely to cover three more volumes of the web novel. Season 1 ended with an incomplete ending, a major cliffhanger. Season 2 is expected to be a continuation of season 1. Last year the 20th volume of the death march light novel series was released in July. The ongoing print novels of death march are expected to have a different ending than the online web novel series. Season 2 would have Satou enjoying a leisurely vacation in the real world. This time his travels lead his part to the famous and dangerous gangster Muno Barony. He would be seen taking on giants, four-headed monsters, and haunted fortresses. During his adventures, he would help out locals and help Baron Muno’s beautiful daughter.

As of April 2023, the anime series has neither been confirmed nor canceled. Moreover, it’s been five years since the first season came out, and having no announcements till now only implies that probably a second season is not happening. The makers can easily make a new season easily since there are enough source materials as mentioned above but it looks like they don’t have any intention to move forward with the next season. Hence, Death March To The Parallel World Rhapsody Season 2 will most likely not happen.
